09.04.2014 - AMD: le APU Athlon e Sempron AM1 sono disponibili in tutto il mondo

AMD annuncia oggi la disponibilità a livello globale della nuova piattaforma AM1, composta dalle APU Kabini dual- e quad-core. Le APU della piattaforma AM1, che utilizzano i brand AMD Athlon e AMD Sempron e sono basate su core Jaguar e architettura Graphics Core Next (GCN), sono montate su schede madri realizzate dai principali produttori. Le APU AMD Athlon 5150/5350 e AMD Sempron 2650/3850 offrono agli utenti finali un'esperienza d'uso bilanciata su una piattaforma aggiornabile in futuro.

Le APU AMD Athlon e AMD Sempron sono caratterizzate dalla presenza di due porte SATA 6 Gbps, due porte USB 3.0, otto porte USB 2.0, connettività PCIe 2.0 e tre diverse uscite video (DisplayPort, HDMI e VGA), per un prezzo molto contenuto. Le APU della piattaforma AM1 sono inoltre in grado di offrire prestazioni fino a 3 volte superiori rispetto alla concorrenza, oltre al supporto a DirectX 11.2 e Windows 8.1.

The AM1 platform, branded with the AMD Athlon and AMD Sempron APU brands will deliver award-winning Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture and "Jaguar " CPU cores on motherboards from the leading manufacturers. AMD Athlon 5150/5350 and AMD Sempron 2650/3850 APUs provide consumers a balanced computing experience on a socketed upgradable platform.

AMD Athlon and AMD Sempron APUs deliver a quad-core solution to consumers that includes two SATA 6 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, PCIe 2.0 lanes for graphic card upgrades, and a trio of video outputs (DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA) starting at under $40 USD1. The AMD AM1 platform provides up to 3x more compute performance than its competitors, as well as balanced computing with DirectX 11.2 and Windows 8.1 support to mainstream markets2.
