W*A*R*N*I*N*G COMPATIBILITY ISSUES REPORTED WITH FORCEWARE DRIVER SERIES 60! Data loss, operation system failure, BSOD, hangs are possible. This driver is unsupported, developing stopped since 2006, 05.
----------------------- The old starting topic: -----------------------
Hi!
This is my driver package, it support WindowsXP! Direct3D, OpenGL, Glide!
Yes, full hardware Direct3D, whitout secondary monitor, or other scarry thing! The driver language is hungarian, may i try to transalate it, but i can not spek english well, but i try to explain how to use this driver. I think it is a low bandwith server to other contries, but if u want to download it, i think it will work. 1. To install the driver, run install.bat! Otherwise the install will fail!!!! 2. To skip the intro, press enter! 3. Press "Tovább", "Tovább", then "Kezdés" buttons! 4. Restart computer! 5. To run a Direct3D game, grab the icon of the game with the mouse, and drop it to the "Voodoo2 Direct3D indítópult.lnk" icon in the desktop! This is a beta release, so ay occur the following problems: 1. May glide2x/3x/opengl will not run, an error appears. 2. May the system hangs and/or a wrong display seen in the monitor. Tested & compatible primary videocards: Nvidia Geforce FX, Riva128 Tested and not compatible cards: Trident cards released before 1994 May not compatible: ATi Radeon series if the second error appers, and d3d not properly initialize, go to regedit, export a reg, comress it, upload it to soewhere, and send to me the link. Please do not send me file in e-mail! If u have problem, send mail to : gerilegend */T* freemail *|)0T* hu I speek english and german a bit, but if u speek hungarian, please tell me your problem in hungarian language. My webpage: http://free.x3.hu/legendsoftware/projects/starty.html <- this page is very slow to other contries i will register international page soon.
THE DRIVER: http://free.x3.hu/lighting3d/voodoomage2xp102bm.rar
If u have problem, please tell it! I fix all errors, i support this driver! |

No. As ps47 alreday sayed, this driver is for Voodoo2 + WindowsXP only.
For Riva128, i think, currently no accelerated drivers available for windows xp. Try Linux (i am not sure what qualify of drivers are available under linux to the Riva128), or Windows98/ME. |

Posted - 15/12/2007 : 18:07:29 no,this is an experimental driver for voodoo2,nothing more. |

Posted - 13/12/2007 : 22:40:35 So, does it mean this driver also includes a driver for Nvidia Riva 128 (maybe also ZX?) on windows XP? First I tried some things on XP until i realised that there's no driver for riva 128 on XP, so i reinstalled 98SE. But with this XP will detect the Riva? |

Posted - 09/08/2007 : 01:28:41 The main site (3dfx.tk, with the drivers) will be removed soon. I need somebody, who can host these driver files (all of them.) |

Posted - 18/08/2006 : 20:15:19 Sunny beach is wonderful place, but Albena is better. Also, there are another good ones.
For V2 - keep in mind, that many modern motherboards just can't accept V2 - beeps like without memory. Example - Gigabyte NForce 4 SLI Pro. |

Posted - 18/08/2006 : 18:41:10 No sorry =( maybe someday. Always wanted to go to Sunny beach. Maybe next year =P..It seems as if Geri can't fix this problem. I guess i'll have to put the Voodoo2 card on layaway until someday. |

Sorry, but my Voodoo Banshee is without TV-Out. |

Posted - 11/08/2006 : 15:20:28 I live in Sweden. Does it by any chance have tv-out? |

Posted - 10/08/2006 : 16:27:40 Okey I tried to find an old voodoo card for sale but it's nearly impossible. A year ago there were still people selling them and I bought a Voodoo4 agp but now.. Thanx for the little guide, I didn't know Linux went so deep and had so many possibilities. Never used it tho but always thinking about trying it out, just to see how it works. Maybe I will do it but only when I have the time. It takes some time to learn a whole different operating system and I bet it's nothing like Windows. Maybe the best thing for me is to buy a Micro-ATX. I've been looking at this. http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.asp?sku=319843 But I don't know what mobo will fitt there. Ít would be pretty good to have it connected next to the tv for older gaming/emulation purpose =P.
P.S When I decide to try linux out, you will be the first one I ask for help ;) |

Posted - 08/08/2006 : 18:58:39 Yes, Voodoo Banshee support D3D under Windows 2000/XP - recommended drivers are Banshee Evolution (the best), Voodoolizer for Banshee and some other. If you can find PCI version, you can use it virtually on any (future) PC. About Cedega (you can try also wine - part of Linux, Crossover Office) - it is running under Linux. It does emulate D3D, but not Glide, with Cedega you can run games (DOS, Windows games), which requests hardware DX9 support on Voodoo Banshee,3/4/5, perhaps on V2 also, but not so fast. Of course, you must install linux drivers, which are installed automaticaly, except those for Nvidia or ATI card. Therefore, some Linux distribution (FreeSpire, Xandros) includes Nvidia and ATI drivers. About Glide support - you can still use Evoodoo or another Glide emulator, even with Cedega.
P.S. I forgot to mention, that you can buy KVM switch, with it you can control more than one PC with 1 keyboard, mouse, monitor - switching around PC's. So, your second computer will not take so much place :) |

Posted - 08/08/2006 : 16:14:50 By the way SEG_Striker thanx for ur tipp but building an older computer is just to much work and one more computer takes up more space. The Cedega emulator ur talking about doesn't it emulate the graphics too? I tried Microsoft Virtual PC with windows98 and it doesn't use Graphic card drivers, instead it emulates them so I can't really play anything with it. By the way the Voodoo Banshee does it support direct3d under windows XP? It is one of the best cards for old games maybe I'll buy one. |
