The original cooling of the voodoo5 is not the best.
Especially the thermal paste is very bad.
Replacing the heatsink and using another thermal paste will keep your card cooler and increase his live.

Please post some picture with the moded card !

I'm going to swap the heat sink for the voodoo3 2000 to and add a fan the heat sink is a custom Pentium 1 heat sink met for massive overclocking kept a Pentium 1 120mhz cool a 150mhz and kept it cool at 133mzh without the fan I'm might get a faster fan and pot a heat sink on the back of it to this is not at the top of my list more so at the bottom I'll post pics of it in the voodoo3 in Modding and overclocking spot on this site when i get to it

just in case anyone wants some alternative i bought a roll of thermal tape (double sided) that i use for ram sinks and i've found it works great for 3dfx / voodoo cards. stick on very secure and does a great job of transfering the heat.

i popped all my voodoo 5 / voodoo4 v3 etc.. sinks off, cleaned them and used the tape and it works great.

its tricky to find but its been worth its weight in gold to buy a roll of it.
