TUL Corporation ha annunciato la video card dual-gpu denominata PowerColor HD7990, una soluzione high-end basata su due gpu "Tahiti XT" di AMD, che il board maker ha progettato per rispondere in pieno alle richieste di prestazioni massime in ambito gaming.
La PowerColor HD7990 è configurata con un doppio BIOS che permette all'utente di scegliere, mediante l'interazione con uno switch hardware, tra la modalità di default, in cui il core grafico delle gpu lavora a 900MHz, e la modalità OC, che prevede una frequenza di clock pari a 925MHz per i core.
Il frame buffer della scheda ha una dimensione pari a 6GB ed è implementato con chip di G-DDR5 che lavorano a 1375MHz (5.5Gbps): due bus, ciascuno dei quali con una ampiezza di 384-bit, collegano il frame buffer alle gpu, implementando evidentemente due canali dedicati.
Il cooler della video card è di tipo a triple-slot ed include tre ventole e heat pipe, anche se sulla numerosità di queste ultime il produttore non ha fornito indicazioni ben definite.
La PowerColor HD7990, che supporta le tecnologie DirectX 11.1, Eyefinity e CrossFireX, è dotata di un set di connettori di uscita composto da una porta dual-link DVI-I, una single-link DVI-D, una HDMI e due mini DisplayPort.
