Fornitore leader mondiale di schede grafiche, SAPPHIRE Technology ha appena lanciato una nuova scheda sintonizzatore TV con una caratteristica innovativa: SAPPHIRE HD 5570 XtendTV.

SAPPHIRE HD 5570 XtendTV è una scheda grafica a slot singolo PCI-Express con 1GB di memoria GDDR5, uscite HDMI e DVI e sintonizzatore TV programmabile incorporato. Collegato al segnale di antenna TV standard, riceve e decodifica tutte le stazioni televisive in chiaro e radiofoniche*. Come un normale sintonizzatore TV, l'utente può guardare TV dal PC host tramite un Media Center e registrare, salvare e riprodurre i programmi a piacere. XtendTV offre molto di più. L'installazione del software FlexiStream sul PC nel quale è montata la scheda grafica trasforma il computer in un streaming server con il quale gli utenti possono vedere i programmi televisivi di casa ovunque si trovino nel mondo, usando XtendTV client su un PC o laptop remoto**. Basata sulle tecnologie FlexiTV e FlexiStream di Mirics, la soluzione SAPPHIRE XtendTV implementa la capacità di Accelerated Parallel Processing (stream processing) presente sul chip della scheda grafica HD 5570, per decodificare in modo scorrevole e uniforme i segnali TV e comprimere lo streaming per la visualizzazione da Internet.

SAPPHIRE HD 5570
HD 5570 è una scheda grafica della serie SAPPHIRE HD 5000 supportata da driver grafico certificato Catalyst DirectX 11 WHQL di AMD. Queste schede sono dotate delle caratteristiche più all'avanguardia per supportare Microsoft DirectX 11, incluse le istruzioni DirectCompute 11, la tessellazione hardware e la comunicazione multi-threaded con la CPU di sistema. Supportano inoltre l'Accelerated Parallel Processing per l'accelerazione delle applicazioni supportate, come video transcoding e rendering accelerato, tramite l’esecuzione di istruzioni direttamente su GPU anziché dalla CPU di sistema. Ideali per applicazioni multimediali, tutte le schede della serie SAPPHIRE HD 5570 integrano un decodificatore UVD (Unified Video Decoder) per la decodifica hardware accelerata di contenuti su supporti Blu-ray e HD DVD sia per i codec VC-1 e H.264 che per file Mpeg, riducendo considerevolmente il carico di lavoro sulla CPU. Nella serie SAPPHIRE HD 5000 l'UVD è stato ottimizzato per la decodifica simultanea di due flussi video HD 1080p e la visualizzazione video HD ad alta qualità con modalità Windows Aero abilitata. La scheda è dotata di HDMI 1.3a con Audio Dolby TrueHD e DTS-HD Master.

Tecnologia Mirics
Mirics FlexiTV è un ricevitore di broadcast multi-standard per personal computer e dispositivi portatili con processore. Utilizzando il processore del PC per la demodulazione, si può ricevere qualsiasi TV digitale e radio standard, con il risultato di disporre di una piattaforma di ricezione multi-standard altamente ottimizzata. Questo prodotto consente la massima flessibilità agli standard, e un solo design di hardware per la ricezione TV terrestre e radio in tutto il mondo.

FlexiStream è un'estensione innovativa della piattaforma FlexiTV. FlexiStream utilizza un home server abilitato FlexiTV (come per esempio un PC desktop) per la ricezione locale, la registrazione e la visualizzazione di trasmissioni live. Leading graphics card supplier, SAPPHIRE Technology has just launched a new TV tuner card with a difference - the SAPPHIRE HD 5570 XtendTV card.

The SAPPHIRE HD 5570 XtendTV card is a single slot PCI-Express graphics card with 1GB of GDDR5 memory and HDMI and DVI outputs – and a built in programmable TV tuner. Connected to a standard TV antenna signal, it will receive and decode all of the local free to air TV and radio stations*. Just as with a regular TV tuner, the user can watch TV on the host PC using Media Center – record, save and playback programs at will. But XtendTV does more. Installing the FlexiStream software on the PC in which the card is installed enables the PC as a streaming server and users can watch all of their home TV programmes anywhere in the world using the XtendTV client on a remote PC or laptop**. Based on FlexiTV and FlexiStream technologies from Mirics, the SAPPHIRE XtendTV solution uses the Accelerated Parallel Processing (stream processing) capability of the on-board HD 5570 graphics chip to decode the TV signals smoothly and to compress the stream for viewing over the internet.

SAPPHIRE HD 5570
The HD 5570 is a member of the SAPPHIRE HD 5000 series which is supported by AMD's Catalyst DirectX 11 WHQL certified graphics driver. This generation of hardware delivers support for all of the key Microsoft DirectX 11 level features including DirectCompute 11 instructions, hardware Tessellation and multi-threaded communications with the system CPU. It also supports Accelerated Parallel Processing, accelerating supported applications such as video transcoding and rendering tasks by executing instructions on the GPU architecture rather than the system CPU. Ideal for media applications, all members of the SAPPHIRE HD 5570 series have an on board hardware UVD (Unified Video Decoder) considerably reducing CPU load and delivering smooth decoding of Blu-ray and HD DVD content for both VC-1 and H.264 codecs, as well as Mpeg files. In the SAPPHIRE HD 5000 series the UVD has been enhanced to be able simultaneously to decode two 1080p HD video streams and to be able to display HD video in high quality with Windows Aero mode enabled. It supports HDMI 1.3a with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
