Video Description:

According to official product description, the "ASUS SDRW-08U1MT is a 9.5 mm internal slim DVD writer that provides the extreme 8X DVD writing speed, providing an easy burning solution in a lightweight and ultra slim package". Really, this ASUS SDRW-08U1MT is useful to read and write a wide range of optical CD and DVD discs, also if it shows off some weakness with partialy scratched or very old discs. Furthermore, on the one hand the ASUS SDRW-08U1MT ensures good general performances and low access time; on the other hand, the spin noise when busy seems acceptable but in same time it's not extraordinarily low. Please note these features allow to write as it follows: ASUS SDRW-08U1MT is not most expensive drive in its price range, but it can claim a good quality vs price ratio. Regarding the compatibility, the ASUS SDRW-08U1MT has a Slimline SATA 22-pin connector, because this drive has been designed to be used with notebook systems. But it can be mounted in a desktop case via adapter. ASUS SDRW-08U1MT measures 127 x 128 x 9.5 mm (L/W/H) (without bezel), and works with these max write speeds: DVD+R: 8X, DVD-R: 8X, DVD+R(SL, M-DISC): 4X, DVD+RW: 8X, DVD-RW: 6X, DVD+R(DL): 6X, DVD-R(DL): 6X, DVD-RAM: 5X, CD-R: 24X, and CD-RW: 24X. The max read speeds are instead: DVD-ROM: 8X, DVD+R: 8X, DVD-R: 8X, DVD+R(SL, M-DISC): 8X, DVD+RW: 8X, DVD-RW: 8X, DVD+R(DL): 8X, DVD-R(DL): 8X, DVD-RAM: 5X, CD-ROM: 24X, and CD-R: 24X.
