Ivoire,
As your still using Win98, try with the last x3dfx drivers, the 1.07's. I currently use those drivers and they are great for all the dx8+ titles.  ;)

Lol, the voodoo5 doesn't support fastwrite, so you wouldn't gain any performance. :)
A while ago I read a FAQ about fastwrite on the nvidia line of cards, and it actually lowered the performance, rather than achieved a gain.....[:o)]

AMD Video Cards / Which Radeon????
15 April 2004, 05:32:12
After a long battle with fighting the urge, the voodoo5 pci is getting a little bit slow at running the newer titles, so I'm looking to upgrade sometime soon.  [xx(]
Now the question is what???? I've basically narrowed it down to a Sapphire Radeon, but I'm not prepared to shell out big $$$ to get a 9800XT. Here is AUS, they go for approx $700AUS, and considering I paid $150 for a spanking new Gamecube, I really don't want to spend that sorta cash on a vid card!  [:0]
So the choice is basically a 9600 of some sort, or a lower end 9800. Is it true all the 9800 are 256bit/8pipelines or only the 9800xt?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

@ Flash,
Lol, believe it my friend, it looks good, but runs really bad (about 5fps). [:0]
After attempting to play it to see what it was like, I found it was exactly the same map as CT1, so what a huge let down by Sega!! Not worth playing in my opinion....[xx(]

What are the required hardware specs for the game after the updated engine? eg cpu speed, video memory etc...

Just a quick note for you guys, if your running win9x and using the 3dfx tools, the official 3dfx overclocker.exe changes both VSA's as well, not only one.  :)

Games / Dead Man's Hand Working
08 April 2004, 04:20:44
Downloaded Dead Man's Hand demo last night(FPS), and was pleased to see it works flawlessly on my Voodoo5 pci.  Settings are as follows: Win98SE, - X3dfx 1.07 drivers, dx9b. 800x600 2x FSAA normal details, smooth gameplay. :D
It's based on the new UT engine, so it should work for everybody... Will post screenies soon..[:p]

Great work Koolsmoky, thanks once again for your hard work! :D
Just a quick question though, does anyone know if the official 3dfx overclocking tool just does one VSA or both? [?]

Kudos on your collection!!!!!!! ;)

At 1600x1200 the voodoo5  only uses one VSA chip, thus the poor performance, so only 2x would be possible...[xx(]

Didn't the 1.18 bios originally come from the Voodoo5 6000?
