Ok, I took a peek back at my mobo book to be sure.  And I mix 1 or 2 thingy.  It's the AGPFS; to set the ratio betwwen the agp bus frequency and the cpu bus frequency.  Default is 2/3 agp to cpu bus. I put it at 1:1.  My cpu bus is at 100mhz now.  And asus said agp bus above 66mhz exceed agp spec for agp interface and are not guaranteed to be stable.  I'm not having problem right now.  I'm using 13mhz dimms Maybe I could higher my fsb ?

Hi,  I just realize that my agp jumper is set to pci100 instead of pci66, and the V5 agp is a pci66 pcb device.  Is the V5 running at 66 anyway or some damage may result ?  Note that I'm not having any problems yet of any sort like game compat,freezing or tearing screens...

Ok, I have an Hercules 3D Prophet 4000 32mb also(Kyro2)... Dam not sure if it is pci or agp...  I used it in another pc I got as a "whole", I took a peek inside ounce.  Would this give me some tork with either the V3 or the V5 depending if it's pci or agp?

Hi,  I saw some guys with two video cards in one system.  Are you switching your screen port from one card to the other as you need?

Will I gain power to do the same with my V5 5500 agp and my  V3 2000 pci?  Could I use both cards at the same time with two screens to play games or  both cards on the same screen? i.e using the V3 for 2d apps and use all the V5 memory for 3d gaming ? Or both cards for video editing etc...  What's the best gain of two video cards?

I'm surprised these games had problems with V2.  They were made when it was the best 3d solution.

I found these patch for the game. Maybe it could fix playing with the V2 if you didn't try it.

I got that from www.bdreams.012webpages.com a few winters ago. They had dropped this driver they called BestNFS on Voodoofiles.  I had nice result with it.  I just took a peek of the site and it's exactly the same as I remember...   But I couldn't find the driver there.  Maybe it,s still on voodoofiles...  I'll try to upload it here anyways.  You'll tell me if it's good or if I've been fooled.

Nightbird, you should be right.  I'm not an IT.  To me it's all drivers and libraries throwing in games path.

Ree, I tried your trick to play in Glide and I end up with same result.  I have a Voodoo 5, so I tried to add it there(v5 was not out when game was released) but as you might guess, it crashed.  So I changed the V3 card like you did and it become a little laggy.  Makes me wondering if this game is using both vsa chips to run?  Even with mesafx ?  Now Could it be that it needs a newer voodoo2z.dll, as there is none in mesafx? Or mesafx drivers doesn't need this dll?

I have voodoo2z 2002 version 8192.16.35.5942 and glide3x from mesafx 6.1. It's fast and clean in dx, and slower too when forcing glide.  Maybe I'll try to copy glide3x.dll in drivers folder and change dx by glide3x in 3dsetup.ini, instead of voodoo2.

It's a 1997 Glide game.  It's fine on my V5 5500 with Win Me + dx9.0.  I found something on jeuxvideo.com forum that might help you.  I don't have Win XP so I don't know.  It says ; "only right clik on the setup.exe of the game/select compatibility/windows 95.  It should work.  Good luck.

For really old games, original drivers.  Right now I have Amigamerlin 2.9 on Windows ME with MesaFX 6.1.

I saw on this website these bios for the V5 5500.  I believe they are for better OC.  Is it worth changing it ?  I have version 1.06 on my card.

I have an Hercules 3d Prophet 4000 with Kyro2 chipset.   I did a fast search on Goog and didn't find any forum.  But I'm not surprise. They did good 3D chip and give a punch in 3D market, but was always somewhere around best 2nd.  So, no top hand on Opengl, No Glide magic...   Nothing to crave.  

Maybe you'd have more luck searching for PowerVR stuff, if they didn't fade away yet.

Ok, what's in amigamerlin 2.9 ? Should I re-install original driver for my V5  for this game ?

Hi, I saw something in this forum on how to play Insane with glide and it gave me the idea to fire it up again.   But since I change the video from d3d to glide all I got is blank screen...  And I can't find the tip I saw earlier!   Any one knows which file to fix ?

I've been playing porsche unleashed with bdreams software on my V3 2000 and it was nice and fast on my p2-333. It's similar as mesafx but tuned for NFS only. the file is called Bestnfs.  You should be able to find it here www.bdreams.012webpages.com, if not let me know I think I still have it over here.

I did damage my v5 ounce (broken capacitor).  I knew someone in an electronic school at that time, so I left them my card and the students fix it...   when they got at this module 6 months later...
They have all the up to date equipement and learning to use it.  They did a perfect job and it didn't cost me a penny, since it was a contribution for their academic!
