Yes, that is the latest. Sage didn't work for me at all. WickedGl uses glide2x, not glide3x and if i remember correctly, that didn't work eighter. You can try more opengl drivers and check your fps to see, which one is better. Smoke grenades will be your main problem.

I play CS 1.6 a lot and the fastest setting is with Amigamerlin 3.1 r11 with the latest 3dfx opengl ICD instead of mesa.

Just install Microsoft Visual Studio. The instructions to compile are on the mesa site. You just need to open the workspace and build the dll's.

Voodoo2 in SLI is somewhere between V3 3000 and V3 3500 in fillrate. That means that a V3 3000 a little bit overclocked will do better than V2 SLI.

Try to contact Daniel Borca. He is (was) a mesa developer, so he will be able to help you for sure. His site is www.geocities.com/dborca . Look there for contact information.

Games / Installing Voodoo 2 - Help

For opengl you need to use MesaFX or WickedGL->better for a V2 (can be found on this site). They both have an opengl32.dll that needs to be placed in the game folder. I would not recommand Voodoomage if you are not too experienced. For me Fastvoodoo 3.5 was the best solution. Do not worry about antialiasing, because there is no antialiasing with V2's.

I tryed the driver with the new .inf and everything is ok now. Thanks SFFT!

General Discussions / V5 5500 Fans?

NP. My opinion is that 5V fans would be the best since you can hoock them up to the original connectors. About removing heatsinks, there are a few topics on that on this board. Eg. something like "Overclocking the V5 5500. Full tutorial"

Hi! I found a quite serious bug in Alpha 37. Using a V3 3000 after rebooting after driver installation the desktop is stuck at 640x480 (or 800x600, just don't recall), 4 bit color depth. I tryed on a fresh installation of XP SP2, on an Epox 8k5a2, 512Mbyte Kingmax DDR, Sempron CPU. I repeated this several times with the same result. Alpha 35 works perfectly.

If they are 5V fans, you can get rid of the plastic part of the connector on the fan, and just plug the metal "things" on the pins of the connector on the card. IMHO the fans you bought are 12V so the fan connectors on the V5 are useless for you. You will have to bring power from the molex connector on your card or just power them directly from the power supply.

Suppose that SFFT core has nothing to do with Opengl. My question than: howcome I can minimise CSrtike 1.6 using Amigamerlin and go back in the game, and using SFFT minimising the game causes it to crash to desktop saying "cannot set opengl context" or something like this? In both cases i was using the latest opengl icd from 3dfx and the same glide2x, 3x, and V5 5500 AGP. So just as a quick conclusion I would use "little to do" instead of "nothing to do".

I have nothing game specific to say. I just want to congratulate you, SFFT, for your hard work. Thanks to you my V56K rocks! I can play every game that I want using your drivers. Keep up the good work! You keep Voodoos alive!
