Hi guys,

I haven't tried the Fast Voodoo driver because I thought it only worked with Intel processor .... and I have an AMD.  Will try it today.

Also, I have the retail Counterstrike, which means that WickedGL doesn't find hl.exe to update.  Is there another way?  When I tell CS to use the 3dfx mini driver, it says my hardware doesn't support it .... but that is because I think it is using the Trident 8400 onboard chip to run.

The Voodoo 2 card is a 12Meg unit, but it is made in Taiwan with no obvious other markings, so I presume it is a reference card only.

I will have another go at WickedGL.... I think the version I downloaded was pretty old.

Thanks a lot!!!

OK so now I have tried all the drivers you have here, and I still get no dxdiag to run.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there,
I have an AMD K6/2 450 with an integrated Trident VGA chipset. I want to play games like CS, but after I installed the PCI Voodoo2 card with a couple of different drivers, dxdiag either won't run at all, or complains it has a problem with DirectDraw.

As soon as I pull the Voodoo Card out, everything is fine (just deadly slow ....)

I have just downloaded a few of the drivers here (thanks to all the wonderful people who made them available!) and will give them a go.

The Voodoo2 appears as a Multimedia device, and I have used the 3.02 ref drivers, and a driver sourced from here that appears as "Voodoo2 by 3dfx Zone" and I presume is supposed to work with DirectX 8.

BTW, I have tried Direct X 7, then 8.0a, and finally 8.1 ... I don't want to risk 9.0 yet! :-)

Cheers

Gavin
