I cannot get Need for Speed Underground to even start on my Pc..It's 1.2 Ghz with 512K memory and it's a HP Pavilion with a built-in video card. I disabled the video card using the device manager and found an XP driver for the Voodoo 2 card. The card is working and alive but apparantly the game doesn't recognize it. CAn anyone please help.
Thank you,
Bill
Sorry, but you cannot play this game using your V2 on windows XP. DirectX, which this game uses, is not usable on the Voodoo 2 under this OS. Also, the Voodoo2 does not have enough RAM (either 8 or 12mb) to meet the minimum requirements of the game (32mb). You will revert to another video card, probably your integrated video. On the other hand, are you sure that this is a voodoo 2? A voodoo 2 is an add-on 3d card, it was meant originally to add 3d acceleration to old computers without it, but it would not support 2D textures, such as your windows desktop. Perhaps you mean Voodoo 3 2k, or 2000? Please check your device manager if you aren't sure, a Voodoo 1/2 will be listed in the Sound, Video, and Game Controllers section (of the System panel), a voodoo rush/banshee/3/4/5 will be listed under display adapters.

thks
there is a way to do it though.
If my wrapper will be finished you can change 16-bit textures to 8-bit textures. These take a lot less amount of precious memory of your vid. card. But still a have to make the ****, and still the problem is how exactly, because I noticed some probs.
IF ONLY SOMEONE COULS HELP ME.
