Do any of the Source Engine games work with a Voodoo5 5500 card? Has anyone tried them?
I have a Voodoo5 5500 AGP and want to know if it's worth installing Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, etc on my PC.
Yop, Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and CS Source work with a Voodoo4/5 and newer SFFT drivers. As far as I've read, a Voodoo3 is able to do so, too.

Fairly new to all these XP drivers. There seem be so many, I'm lost in choice.
Would Amigamerlin 3.1 drivers work?
(I haven't actually got the voodoo5 in a PC yet, I'm giving it better cooling before I do)
Also, what kind of settings? I'm assuming quite low?
with low details and 800x600 my v5 performs about 60fps in cs source internal bench
i suggest you to use SFFT drivers
benna how much fps do you have playing against bots..and with what details?
I never tryed and i have no more CSS installed [:(]
But probably very low fps because voodoo cards needs lots of CPU to run well
I'll show you the worst case: http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=3283636&postcount=53 ;)
The result was from a very hard CPU timedemo with many bots. Most levels run better, especially when lowering the bot number.

I little test I made.

Half Life 2 is running very well, but Counter-Strike Source has some performance problems.
The problems are not because of Bots because the CPU I used for the test is very speedy.
You can see some graphic-bugs.
When you use a SFFt-alpha up to version #41 those bugs will be away and the textures will be filtered.
