i installed diablo2 on my secondary rig (p2 350Mhz,ati mach64+ voodoo2 sli, OS: win2k) , and it wont recognize the voodoo and doesnt let me use the glide renderer.
how can i make it work?
have you tried fastvoodoo2 3.5? do you have all the SLI and monitor cables hooked up? is the "Assign IRQ to PCI VGA" enabled in the BIOS, if you have such an option? are either of the V2s sharing an IRQ? so many possibilities...
i have the fv3.5 :D
the sli and monitor cables are fine, and i'll need to check that irq issue...
Quote3DFX Voodoo 2
Problem: I don't seem to have a "glide" option listed as an available mode in Diablo II.
Solution: This is caused by a corrupt or improper install of the latest 3dfx Glide Drivers for the Voodoo2 card. Uninstall your current glide drivers, delete any .ini files in the c:\windows\inf\other\ folder which pertain to 3dfx and reboot. Upon starting up it will prompt you for drivers for the new device, point to the latest drivers you downloaded.

i've already read that, and i tried it, but there wasnt a problem with the driver installation...
QuoteV2s sharing an IRQ
the V2 doesn't need an IRQ to function
but with our modern mobo's, i will avoid to install a Voodoo2 on the first slot pci (near the Agp Slot) since this Agp Slot shares often an IRQ with it
anyway the problem seems different with Diablo2
do you try other games in Glide ?

I don't understand the reasoning. If the V2 doesn't use an IRQ, the best PCI slot would be the closest to AGP, because you save an IRQ and this setup can't cause a conflict (only AGP card will be using IRQ, V2 won't).
@3dfxfanatic
Diablo2 uses Glide3 ?
so you can perhaps try to change this file : back up your file (glide3x.dll.bak), d/l an 3dfx driver for the V2 and extract the old glide3.dll
When Diablo2 went out, Blizzard mentionned that the driver 3.03.00 was the best for the game
