Voodoo2 Discussions / Very Wierd SLI Problem.
03 February 2006, 11:24:35
Hey everyone.

I just formatted my computer and are now using windows XP and i just noticed that when i run my Voodoo 2's in SLI i get wierd missing bits, sort of like the line skip feature in Battlezone, now it only happens when i run it in SLI mode, i didnt notice anything wrong when i was running Windows 98 SE but now since iam on XP its doing this, I have tried a few of my Voodoo's and it still does the same thing. Iam just wondering if it is Windows XP that is doing this because it seems wierd that it all comes on so suddenly, i have been using Fastvoodoo2_4.0 drivers i have tried 3.5 and some other basic drivers for XP still the same problem, every single game i play that uses my V2's does this.

Voodoo2 Discussions / Voodoo 2 Benchmarking!
08 January 2006, 09:34:26
A Competition sounds great, Umm any max CPU speed or anything can it be done in our regular PC's, The programs i have are, 3dmark 99,00,01 and the rest of them i dont think they will run on a V2 i might give them a try some time but i would think it would be ugly.

I have Currently got 2x Magic 2 Voodoo 2's, im pretty sure they run 93MHZ stock, i have them running at 105MHZ.

Regards.

05 January 2006, 11:44:46
Hey,

I just noticed i have three of the same Voodoo 2, they are exactly the same, is it possible to get more than 2 to work at the same time, could there just be a chance if i you get a floop cable and have 3 ends on them, make the wires suitable for sli the little twist, is it possible, ive seen the thread where there are 4 or more SLI'd up but that was with the device called mercury, any tips guys?

Voodoo2 Setup and tweaking / Voodoo 2 Voltmod?
31 December 2005, 08:39:47
Hey,

Oh well nice try mate, i have never attemped to actually screw around with circuitry, i dont really push a card hard enough so it starts being unstable, although i did increase the clock on my 6600GT to 580/1220 and it was stable, every chip is different, you see people on other forums going why the hell does yours get so high and then they try and push it harder and it starts smoking. I havent overclocked any of my Voodoo's i dont really want to put much stress on them i want them to last so when i have kids and i have a PC that still supports them i will go here kids this was the card that changed the way people play games!

Hey,

When you SLI up a Voodoo 2 card, you get pretty much 2x the processing power, you get 2x the memory, although you dont normally get 2x the score in benchmarks you do notice a large increasment in performance when you put load on the cards, if you had a faster Processor it would increase it even further.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply mate!
Iam currently running Windows 98SE basically for better support in old games like Battlezone and Wing Commander, Im gonna get Freespace 2 going tonight maybe download Unreal Tournament, I ran 3dmark 99 and it got 2805 marks which aint bad considering SLI Voodoo 2's get 3500 or something, I will SLI some up tommorow sometime and send in some benchy's

Voodoo2 Setup and tweaking / Voodoo 2 Voltmod?
30 December 2005, 15:23:47
Hey,

Umm check in your bios there might be a feature in there that can change the voltage of your PCI slots, beware if there is and you have other cards apart from your V2 in it which you probably would they could die, just be careful, that would be the only way i could see you getting more voltage into the card i havent seen any sites or anything saying you can do it with just your V2 it is probably possible, but still i havent seen anything regarding it.

Hey all,

I was wondering im new to this forum but i have always been a lover of 3dfx, oh yes i can rerember the first day my dad brought home a 3dfx card it was a Creative 3d blaster Voodoo 2 8mb, Still the same thrill of playing Wing Commander Prophecy and Battlezone, they are great games!

Anyways the point of my topic was i could start benchmarking all my 3dfx cards, i have lots of them about 4x voodoo 1's around 5 or 6 voodoo 2's i recently brought a SLI couple off ebay, i soon will have a Voodoo 3 3000, so yeh if you guys could give us a nice list of benchmarking programs that will work with Voodoo 1's and Voodoo 2's that would be awesome!
