Title: Resident Evil, GTA Windows XP Voodoo 1
Post by: NPH0RM on 29 January 2010, 19:43:42
Hi,

i am new to this board. My PC-configuration is as follows:

ASUS A7V133-C with AMD Athlon XP 1800+
1,5GB PC133 SDRAM
nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 + Diamond Monster 3D (Voodoo 1)
SoundBlaster

Now i want to play games like Resident Evil 1 and GTA 1 in 3dfx Mode. For this purpose I installed the Iceman driver. Ok, it worked. Buit now i can't play the games: GTA says missing dll and Resident Evil keeps screen black after showing 3dfx logo.

best regards

Yes, tried both in compatibility mode. I am now installing Windows 98SE for playing old games with 3Dfx support! :)

GTA1 (3Dfx version) is a Dos Game.
You need a glide(2x).ovl to run this game but the Iceman driver doesn't support it.
The best is to install the missing file in the Gta dos directory

I have now installed Win98SE and tried to start the game from DOS in 3dfx mode. The screen got errors and freezed. I tried both cards, but i don't think, they are damaged. It doesn't work with my GeForce4 Ti 4200 stacked. I think, i will sell the second card too. Impossible, to get it running with new hardware. An old PC would be needed.

Cheers!

If you think that the speed of the cpu is the problem, maybe  mo'slo (http://www.hpaa.com/moslo/basic.asp) can help
