hi guys

ok Here i got a heap of new games
and what results i have been getting with the vodooo 6000,

can you guys talk more about NEW GAMES HEY !!!

Tron 2 (tested demo and slight faults)

-Gta Vice city (works tested ok)

-Chaser (works ok )

-chrome (works but huge lighting problems in dx 9) must try dx8,3

-TOny hawk 4 (does not work)

-Halo 1 demo (does not work)

-Freelancer (works with win98 only) works super super perfect in 8x mode

-The Deadly Dozen (pacifec theatre) works perfect in 8x mode
day of defeat ( works perfect ) 8x mode 40fps at 1024x769 on v6k
moto gp2 (works perfect now with 75% setting) the trick is to set the textures at 70% and mutilayers at 40% and only use 8x mode fssa in 800x600 or 1024x769 and it runs like a dream on the v6k, add 3da and you seem to get better looking textures on the road (faults in 2x fssa and 4x fsaa ) strange !!!

-Haegemonia (works with win98)

so let me know , what games are working well on your Voodoo 5 or voodoo 6000

also anyone got the correct setup inf for unreal 2003 on a v6k

Freelancer works on Win XP with a V5 with the NuDrivers, all fine, with perfect performance, in order to see textures activate DXT Textures un 3d Analyzer too

max payne 2 hehehe nice hey in 8x fsaa on v6k on 800x600 with decent fps hey you can still play it and at 1024x769 its a bit slow on the fps - hehe koolsmokey where that new special driver for 8x mode lol

more fps is what we need in 8x fsaa and we have them all owned with the best 3d graphic in games seen to date

other new games seem to be harder and harder to get working hey

but i tryed the new Star_Wars_Jedi_Knight_Jedi_Academy and it works better than the orignal on the v6k

you can also play this at 800x600 in 8x mode fsaa

nice to see the v6k still keeping up with games out there

well i've just got my new 3dfx Voodoo5 system ready.

AMD AthlonXP 2700+         [2167Mhz, FSB=333Mhz, L2 Cache = 256KB]
ASUS A7V333-RAID           [VIA KT-333, Bios 1017]
1x 512MB PC-2700           [DDR-333, Samsung Original, CAS 2,5]
3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP 64MB [Dual 3dfx VSA-100, 32MB per 3dfx VSA-100]

Win98SE fully Updated
DirectX 9.0b
Amigamerlin 2.9

and Unreal Tournament 2003 rus very good at 1024x768x32 all setting at High and I score about 55 to 65 frames per second.

Also I got Grand Therft Auto: Vice City running at 1024x768x16 + FSAA x4 and LOD -2.00 running at just 45 frames per second.

didn't do Quake 3 yet, nor Jedi Knight: Jedi Acdemy.

First what I'd like to know is this:

1. How do I get C&C Generals ZERO : HOUR running?

2. Is it also possible to run HALO: Combat Evolved, if it is how
  do I do that?


By The Way, Unreal [Classic] is really reborn now, running in 3dfx Glide mode at reso: 1024x768x16 + FSAA x4 at 42 Frames per second!!!!
Man I still love that game [^][^][^][^]

I agree with you; Unreal is the best game I've ever seen/played!

Updated list for now... All these games (demos) worked on Win98 SE, with the x3dfx 1.07 drivers, and a voodoo5 5500 AGP.

V-Rally demo - Perfect

Harry Potter Quidditch - Perfect

World Championship Snooker 2003 - some minor corruption on pool table, but good otherwise

Chrome - looks fine...runs S L O W

C.O.N.T.R.A.C.T Jack - Perfect

Need for Speed: Underground
runs with V5-5000 in Win98, a bit slow but playable.
Driver x3dfx 1.07, all details at minimum, 640x480.

What also gives alot fun and speed, is :

Star-Wars: Episode I: Racer

Playnig that game with the Voodoo5 5500 AGP + FSAA x4 at a reso 1024x768x16 [Glide], well gotta say this , those VSA-100 based cards really kick butt pretty well, even Quake 2 is very playable at 1024x768x32 with the FSAA x4 setting.  And the image Quallity is simply outrageous!!!!

All those old games just recieved a "comeback"

and my 3rd 3dfx Voodoo5 has been bought too, a 5500 PCI this time, didn't have that one in my 3Dfx/3dfx Collection yet ;)

Okay It runs extreemly slow at 640x480x16 [8)]. but it doesn't mean that my Voodoo5 5500 bothers that, it just runs it.  Okay We all thought that this was impossible, well it ain't.

I will make screen shots of it, but can I mail them to anyone around here, so the he of she can post them for me? Why? because useing upload proggrams is something I can't cope with, so if someone else here would like to do that, It would be very thankfull;).

It even works with the mesa FX driver, although there are a few missing textures.

After attempting to play it to see what it was like, I found it was exactly the same map as CT1, so what a huge let down by Sega!! Not worth playing in my opinion....[xx(]

Waht the drivers and configurations to run smoothly?

I notice frame drops very often even playing at minimum game details.

Works flawlessly with v5 6000. Had some annoying errors like having the minimap not displayed on the v5 5500. Game Performance is FAR better on the 6000 when zoomed out.

All Games with K.R.A.S.S. Engine: v5 5500 only, don't run on 6000's (Target Resolution not found...)

Chaos Legion - Some glitches in menu, ingame ok. Fast.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload - Flawless, very fast, looks nice w/4xFSAA on V5 6K, A little slow w/8x on 6K and 4x on 5500 (but it's only 900Mhz celeron :))

Red Faction 2 - flawless, a bit slow (this game sucks, RF1 waaaay better)
Star Wars: Jedi Academy - flawless w/ MesaFX
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One very minor bug, very fast.
Neverwinter Nights - better to run Windows version on Linux w/ Cedega (WineX) - working movies

As was mentioned before, UT2003 bench runs fine, also Serious Sam 2nd Encounter. IL-2 also works fine. These games came out very late near the end of the Voodoo5's lifespan.

Anybody try Dronez and GunMetal? How about Medal of Honor? I will when I have time.

Medal of Honor runs fine with MesaFX, I suggest you have a look at the screenshot section...

There's just gotta be way that FarCry should be able to run on ouur Voodoo4 & 5 cards, it is D3D, isn't there a way to skip the Video card detection? of is there a way to change a sentence in the .ini file so Voodoo4&5 will be accepted?

I just hope it will work out some day.

Tribes Vengance will run.Medium qaulity.Speed is good.But works like crap in 800x600 and up.

No chance with Thief3, this game needs pixel shaders...
However, Pirates works on Win98 with latest Evolution driver as well as on WinXP with SFFT driver. Expect random exits to desktop though...

i got Farcry to run on my voodoo5 6000 REV 3800

it runs at 200fps in 1280X1024 with 128X FSAA

 i just try it out and just play in software mode with 18FPS, since in hardware mode i just get 3FPS.........

Metal Gear Solid. It's not new but it's worth mentioning. A few years ago there weren't any drivers that'd run the game.

you mean metal gear solid2 I assume? the first game supports voodoo2 and newer officially.

Hello all, I'm a real Quake3Arena fan, and what driver would you reccomend me formy 5500AGP for the the best performance in Quake3 Arena, at this time, I'm useing AM3.1.R11, also spotted the SFFT Alpha 30 driver, but the performance chance wasn't noticable.

If anyone has an idea, it would be nice to use.

I've got another new game that works: Dungeon Siege II (demo)! Very nice performance: around 20-30 fps in 1024x768x16 with 2xRGSSAA turned on on a Tbred @ 2,4 GHz. The game is extremely CPU hungry ... more power on this side makes the game run even better! :) Impressive, Voodoo5 ...

that is your opinions the best for multiplayer still remains to be Unreal Tournament Game Of The Year Edition 1999 for 3dfx cards it has the best action :) and yeaps Quake3 is also great fun everuone has thier own opinions on what they think is best ;)

Well Half Life has qua gameplay as AI as graphics the best combo's for a 3dfx game of it's time, far more superior than Unreal's gameplay & AI, though the graphics from Unreal were in some cases better qua textures and so on. ;)

as the Unreal Engine was also alot more stable to use.

and about new games I am gonna test X2 The Threat this week, see what that does.

IL-2 Sturmovik is a WW2 combat flight simulator.
It can run on Voodoo3 and Voodoo5 in Open GL or DirectX mode.
You will find V3 and V5 predefined profiles in IL-2 setup application.
You can also customize the conf.ini file.
