Hi at all,:D
I have some doubt about Quantum3d X-24&Quantum S-12 cards. This is right or I am confused!
QUANTUM3D S-12= 2 VOODOO2 SLI 24MB
QUANTUM3D X-24= 4 VOODOO2 SLI 48MB
Thanks
Oscar
QUANTUM3D S-12= 1 VOODOO2 12 MB (PCI or AGP)
QUANTUM3D X-24= 2 VOODOO2 SLI 24MB on the same card (PCI)
Thanks :D
and what about the Obsidian 100SB ???
That is a voodoo1 based card.
The voodoo2 version is the 200sbi.
A x24 for the professional market.

oops ;)
The X24 is the consumer card.
The SB200 and SB200i are the professional cards.
just like this Quantum3D 200SB - Obsidian2 X-24 that I just saw on ebay? [:P]

NEW? wow 50$US? yikes ...
Especoally tat Swaplock.
The mercury was based on 8 voodoo2's, that means 4 200SBI's.
But with swaplock you could link up to 16 voodoo2's with each other, and gain speed not features like FSAA for free.
can u give more details about the s-12 agp v2, nightbird?
The only Voodoo 2 Agp (1x) in the world :)
Black pcb (like all the Q3D products), daughtercard with SVideo and Composite connectors, 12 Mo.
Really a beautiful Voodoo 2 but careful if you want to use it, the card is wide so needs some space around the slot Agp.
Owning the famous medusa cable can be "interesting" because you need it.
what's this medusa cable?
The cable to connect two obsidians together or something, someone please correct me...
Here's a pic of the medusa cable (in the center of the pic):

That are posts that are almost 2 years old!!!!
Also Nightbird do you have some info about the Quantum3D 4440??
I mean pictures etc. Does someone know somebody with this card??
Quotethe Quantum3D 4440??
the Obsidian 50 or the 100 ? ;)
yes, but the people still exist...
QuoteThe cable to connect two obsidians together or something
Not exactly ;)
This is what the manual writes about the medusa vga pass through cable :
- connect the appropriate end of the high density DB-26 connector on the card
- connect the male end of the pass through cable to your Windows display adapter
- connect your monitor cable to the female end of the pass though cable
This cable is necessary because a X24 (by e.g) doesn't own the 2 "traditional" outputs for the monitor and for the display adapter on the pcb ; only 1.

And the cards are many more than that, the info is still quite valid
Well Nightbird,
Just give me every thing you got about Quantum3D voodoo1 based cards.
I have never even seen a 50 BTW. I am gathering info about the voodoo1 and special editionds of it, to write an article.
Yes I think you guys are right. If they where still busy with 3dfx, in 2002 (2 years after the thing happend[V]) Than they will exist today.
@perer
I will see what i can do for you, needs "only" some time [:p]
