FastVoodoo2 4.6 - Clock adjustment option

In recent years/months, I have received many 3dfx Voodoo2 cards for repair that were declared 'defective,' but after careful inspection/testing, they were found to be in perfect working order.

This is because Voodoo2 owners are unaware that some 3dfx drivers overclock the video card, albeit by only a few MHz, during driver installation.

Almost 30 years have passed since 1997, 28 to be precise, and it is normal for a video card built at that time to have components that tend to degrade and be affected by any change, showing visual defects and artefacts, which can be caused by poor airflow or even minimal overclocking.

The FastVoodoo2 4.6 drivers from 3dfxzone.it are among the best for Voodoo2 video cards and allow you to add an option to the Voodoo2 control panel for adjusting the video card clock, bringing it to the default clock speed of 90 MHz, by following the procedure described in the Readme.txt file.

The owner then decides, of their own free will, whether to overclock a 28-year-old video card without taking the necessary precautions, assuming the risks.

I understand that hearing these words from me may seem paradoxical, given my habit of always pushing these video cards to the extreme, but I must admit that a little caution is needed after all these years.

But that doesn't mean that tomorrow I won't come up with yet another Extreme Experiment, because:

'A leopard can't change its spots!' ;)

Hello Ciacara,

Welcome back: I'm very pleased to read one your message again, and I like to sincerely thank you for your passion for both 3dfx and its graphics cards, as well as for the valuable contributions you've posted in this Community.

However, I have to clarify that the FastVoodoo2 4.6 driver - released by 3dfxzone on August 7, 2004 - like all the drivers developed and distributed by the team, does not in any way damage the hardware.

I kindly ask that you refrain from presenting personal opinions as though they were the result of an analytical study, and to avoid circulating modified versions of the FastVoodoo2 4.6 driver.

I trust you understand, and should you require any further clarifications, please feel free to reach out to me privately.

Bye bye

Hello Glide,
No problem, I will delete the version I posted online and edit the posts.
