Hi,
I have a Vodooo 3/3000 video card and was using a WIN98 with original drivers and it was ok.
I upgraded my o.s. to WIN2k and installed the original drivers for WIN2k. After that the settings for Video Overlay (inside 3dfx Tools > 3DFX Color) are in grey . (they are not avaiable)
Besides that, in Monitor Type ( Control Panel - Display Properties - Settings -Advanced) appears a "Generic Television" (in win98 there wasn't that) and my monitor CMC-1703b. It seems that this card was set up for two video monitors. And the Generic Television is the primary one. I have tried but could not change it to secondary one.
I reformatted my HD and after reinstalling O.S., I installed AMIGAMERLIN 2.5 SE FOR voodoo3/4/5(tm) Driver kit but the same problem remains.
Why does this Generic Television appear ?
Why video overlay option is not enable ?
I usually watch DVDs in my computer and I use these festures to adjust the color and brightness.
Thanks for any help.
well, i don't have Win2K but this problem of overlay isn't new
i can imagine 2 things :
- the driver doesn't support the overlay
- you need an other version of 3Dfx tools, perhaps older than you use
on this site :
http://www.falconfly.de/voodoo3.htm
Voodoo3 Win2K Drivers
you can perhaps try the 3Dfx drivers versions
all these versions own their self version of 3Dfx tools older than the last version V2.6.1.116
about the "generic television" i need to search...
UPDATE : the "generic television" seems to be a characteristic of the Win2k drivers
I have already tried some versions of 3dfx tools but none worked for video overlay.
I think the problem is the driver. I believe that even the 3rd party driver makers are focused on the game thing and did not enabled the video overlay option.
Dou you know any 3rd party tools that can control that ?
Try with lates 3dhq release (beta 10) for Voodoo3: you can download this driver from www.tdhq.net or www.3dfxzone.it
Please update your monitor driver before install video card driver...
PS: Welcome to forum ;)
well, i'm not sure about the drivers
the problem is (perhaps) with the "generic television" but without being sure
i'm looking for on this axis
when i lok at the display propertys i dont see the part for voodoo tv out ive a 3000, running on xp and i downloaded the amiga drivers, but still no tv out part how doi get the tv out??it worked with original drivers on me
all drivers for 2K/XP can't support the video overlay gamma. because i modified the register directly, but nothing happened.
hey bud go to www.download.com and click on utilities and drivers , then click on drivers , then display and video , then go to search box and type in voodoo 3 , it should give you nt drivers for the card it is the driver you need to enable tv and 3dfx tweaks , but video overlay is not enabled , until open gl updates there drivers for xp video overlay will not be enabled , im still working to find another possible alternative.
