Whehe that baby 's gonna be mine. Hope it's gonna come out in regular pci 2.1 and pci-Xpress. My system doesn't have pci-x... Well we'll see!

Does the playstation 3 graphics engine have shared memory use or does it use it's own memory? And how many pipes do both gpu's have? My guess is that if the ps3 has it's own card memory, it will be faster with the same amount of pipes. This due to latency's on the 360 from the system memory to the gpu. But still, need to know how many pipes :) (Pix / s)

Yes I'm going to run it with my Tualatin 1600 system. Im running windows xp profesional sp 2, so indeed I will change the ram amount. I was already planning to get 2 more sticks of 256 mb cas 2, so that i have all 3 slots filled with 256 mb. I've heard that added 3 of the same amount of memory could increase perfomance a little. And offcourse, 768 Mb is still nice for most games to run great, even if it's slow sdram. Oh jeah, I got some great news, i've found someone that is going to sell me his radeon 9700 pro BBA for around 95 euro's. I guess this will make the system complete.

Humpf. To bad hanksemenec is to busy to provide me with info about the voodoo 3 tl :( Would be nice to have the info. But well :)

I know, it's just that I like to see how far the Voodoo 5 can go in beauty. That's why I wanted to have a better texture resolution. Just to see the beauty of what he's capable of. I don't even mind how slow he is, halflife will always be unplayable on my machine like it is now.. Thx :)
#27
Thanx a lot! I will try it immediately. You will hear of me soon!

[edit] That autoexec file of yours worked! Texture resolution is at it's highest level! You can see the Voodoo 5 having a hard time with it, but it's beautifull to see :). I've found a site with more commands, http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=71210 . Here you can set halflife 2 to direct x 9.0 in advanced options! And it works :>. Thx for the file![/edit]

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering which newer (dx 9 capable) cards are still compatible with my old bx board? This board has a 3.3v, 2x agp slot. I know older agp 4x cards are backwards compatible. But all new cards are agp 8x, and that might not be compatible. Is there any of u guys that run a new agp 8x card on a bx board? Or does anyone know what the newest possible card would be for my system ? Thx

Great, thx rolo01! Your results can be found on 3dfx.i-cey.net >> other >> User Benchmarks >> your name

I hope this will encourage others from this forum to send me more results!

Are your results Max fps, avg fps or min fps? And how could you use 32 bit. Did you bench opengl or D3D for 32 bit, or did you bench glide (which isn't 32 bit..). My results with the Utbench are @ 1024 glide 16 bit all max graphics, 166 mhz card:

min 53,95
max 83.66
avg 67.50

If you can do that for me , that would be great. I'll see what you will come up with. Thx
