Title: Voodoo2 SLI help - I know that sounds terrible ;)
Post by: BAMsE on 10 February 2005, 13:53:25
At the first I'm sorry for my English.
I've old computer p200 64ram voodoo2 12mb [V] & I think to join
another v2 on SLI. But the performance of v2 depends on cpu's
performance so i reflect on doing that. For example: in Soldier
of Fortune I obtain 26fps with everything 'off' (lighting,
texture filtering) & 'low' (texture format, models detail) but
game looks like atari-style (aaargh!). When I turn everything
'on' & 'high' the fps falls down to 11. And now question:

*************************************************************
* WILL THE SLI MODE SPEED UP THE GAME IN HIGH DETAIL MODE ? *
*************************************************************

                                                 Please help

i do have a pair of these monsters currently.
SLI would not give 2x the performance. It does help about 40% to 80%, the exact would depend on the software support too.

I would not advise you to get another voodoo2 unless u really have another spare card.
Well, if you can find it cheap, why not give it a try? Your P200 would have a 2nd chance!!

get yourself a faster CPU e.g. K6-2 is always a better idea, as you can find them at a very low price over ebay...
