Hi,

at VoodooAlert I'm currently collecting the serial numbers found on the back of every Vooddo5 6000 Rev.A 3700 (The others Revisions doesn't have the decal with the S/N).

Link: https://www.voodooalert.de/board/forum/index.php?thread/23949-voodoo5-6000-rev-a-3700-liste-mit-seriennummern/

Together with the serial number, which is unique, I try to collect as much history per card as possible.
In theory you can track back your v56k to the 3dfx-engineer, who took it in 2000.

So if you own a Rev.A 3700, not listed there or do have more information to another card (owner, previous owner, time stamps, high-res (!) pictures from the front/back), please drop me a line. Every little detail is important.

It's a long time project, based on the input of our 3dfx-community. So I need your help.

Great news!

I hope v1.0 will not be "the final one". Keep on programming! You do a really great job for this community!

Voodoo4/5 Discussions / Voodoo4 ?

AFAIK the powercolor ek4 needs 3,3v...
like the v5 5500 agp4x...you can put it into a agp4x-system with 1,5v but the card will not have any function or a creeping death...

and there is also a 4800 with a daytona chip, but complete different layout and DDR RAM! (this one: http://www.voodoo3dfx.com/Fotos/Prototipos/Pagina%20Prototipos%20400x/voodoo4%204800%20ddr.jpg)

it is a Voodoo4-2 4200 with TV-Out...Voodoo4-2 4800 was only a marketing name AFAIK...

do you have a dvi-controller-chip? the one which where used by 3dfx...
i have some dvi-d-connectors (i also have some controller-chips from the cards the connectors came from...made by siliconimage) but i invested too much time and money....

3dfx/3Dfx is not the same as 3DFX...

vsa-100 chips cannot use DDR-ram
only vsa-101 gpus can use it ;) and i guess if you get one of the rare v5 5500 with vsa-101 it will not function coz the card was build for SD-ram...or is this point not true?

search for a mATX KT333 board and you have it ;)
kt333 is the last (and best) chipset for 3,3v voodoo cards! but do not use kt333ce models...they have 1,5v agp!

gdonovan owns this 4800...its a prototype...so it is real ;)

4500 with 64mb...soldering more ram on it quite nice but i do not believe that the card is functional...as omega said there is a hardware limitation...and this year the limitation was named (its a little SMD resistor which have to be soldered on the backsite of the 4500)..this "functional" modded 4500 was build a few years ago...so i do not believe a guy found that limitation before an engineer of 3dfx...

if i'm wrong correct me...this is my knowledge about this topic...

even a dead v5 6000 is a v5 6000...do not blame this god of hardware...
i paid 50 euro for my damaged aalchemy 8164...and it is a nice piece of hardware...

i do not think that the seller is so stupid that he used the 6000 in a wrong mobo with different vagp than 3,3...
