21 March 2008, 10:19:14
I've got 2017 points on a Voodoo5 5500 PCI, P4 3Ghz, 2Gb RAM, WinXP SP2 and SFFT Alpha 57

I have the same problem with Alpha58. I can't play videos and when I start 3DMark or any other game it fails.

I have uninstalled Alpha 58 and installed Alpha 57 and all is ok.

Specs:
WinXP Pro SP2
Pentium 4 3Ghz
Asrock P4Dual-880Pro
2 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 XT (I uninstalled it to test Alpha58)
Voodoo 5 PCI

Try to uninstall all the drivers of Voodoo2 of your system
Download and install FastVoodoo 4.6 if you have Win9x or FastVoodoo 4.0 Gold Edition for WinXP
Check if games works. If doesn't, install this Voodoo2 driver: https://www.3dfxzone.it/public/uploaded/koolsmoky/200762465834_Voodoo2.zip

However, tell us what is your Operating System, and what drivers have you used.

If you want to install Sfft57 and you have an error installing it, download this modified dpinst.xml  https://www.3dfxzone.it/public/uploaded/Xasd/20083820028_dpinst.zip

A list of codes can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/oslocversion.mspx
Spanish code is: 0x0C0A

Wow :D these are good news

If HSR could be implemented into SFFT drivers, games can run at highter framerates. Quake 3 its a good example [:p]

Did you try another game in action?. If so, post some screenshots [8D]

For my Voodoo3

Win98SE: Amigamerlin 2.9
WinXP: SFFT

I have intalled this driver for Voodoo2, but how I can make work a game based on DirectX? There is any way to force a game to use a Voodoo2?

For OpenGL & Glide seems to work well, but I must prove more games

This is not good news, but if you find some information of how to make it, please post it. It can help us to continue the project.

If I have time, this summer i'll try to make it with an old graphic card  :D

It's look like very well ;)

FastVoodoo2 for Win98

LegendGrafix VoodooMage2 for WinXP

(both drivers in last version)

Geri, these are very good news since you decided not to continue with this driver. I only hope your contribution to 3dfx community will be the beginning of a new 3dfx driver for our old Voodoo2

Now the question: Could we develop a new driver for Windows Vista? :D

And Geri, one more thing: thanks for release the sources and maintain alive ours Voodoo2  ;)
#13
Well one question ... are you using a Voodoo5 PCI or a Voodoo5 AGP?
#14
Its looks like very well and with a very good fps. I only tell you one thing: I WANT THIS DRIVER, jejeje ... :D

Are you planning to release it?

Voodoo2 is only a 3d Acelerated Graphics Card. It only uses 3D and requires a 2D Graphics Card (your 7800gtx) to work. This Graphic Card appear normally in section "Sound, Video, Game Controllers", not in "Display Adapters", so your card appear to work correctly.

For OpenGL aceleration, you can try FastVoodoo2 Gold Edition
For OpenGL and Direct3D aceleration, you can try LegendGrafix VoodooMage 2 (this is a beta version driver, so sometimes your PC can be unstable, but works in a lot of games)
