is it a 4x agp? or just like 5500 just 2x?

Yes, this is the card that could potentially be
upgraded to 64 MB of Memory. However nobody has
ever been succesfull so far. It seems that just
adding more memory to the card (filling the empty
places) and updating the BIOS will not suffice.
A relatively short time ago some people discovered
there is a hardware limitation so the card will not
recognise the extra Memory. This has also been confirmed
by an ex-3dfx engineer.

I went to the link, did not find the related topic, but find two things;
A person code name " DennisF " seems has a v4500 64mb upgrade and test successfully....
also, a v4800 with dvi and tv out has 64mb, that's really a news to me......is it real?
Both with photo ,but I don't know how to post photo in here, sorry....

gdonovan owns this 4800...its a prototype...so it is real ;)
4500 with 64mb...soldering more ram on it quite nice but i do not believe that the card is functional...as omega said there is a hardware limitation...and this year the limitation was named (its a little SMD resistor which have to be soldered on the backsite of the 4500)..this "functional" modded 4500 was build a few years ago...so i do not believe a guy found that limitation before an engineer of 3dfx...
if i'm wrong correct me...this is my knowledge about this topic...
