Hi everybody,
I'm planning to build a system around my Voodoo 3 3000. My idea is to set up this system to be very compatible with games of the late 90s. I'm thinking as follows:
Win98se
VooDoo 3
SBlive
256 meg ram
etc.
I would like to use as modern of a cpu/motherboard/memory setup as possible. Are there any pitfalls of combining a new system with an older V3 or any other issues along those lines?
Thanks for you advice.
If u wanna get the most out of a v3, then you should use at least a 700Mhz+ cpu - better off with an athlon ddr system. Athlons are voodoo friendly. :D
An sblive tends to be a bit draining on the cpu, but otherwise, everyhing else seems pretty good.
Win98se is the best way to go for OS. [8D]
About a mobo, don't forgot that the V3 supports "only" Agp 2x and 3.3v ; except if you own a V3 Pci...
So if I use a PCI V3 I can use the lastest and greatest cpu/mobo without any problems?

You may try! :D
But basically, yep! That's the idea...
Err, I'm not sure about those ultra-new PCI slots (I can't remember the details)...
