is there anyone in the 3DFX community who also contributes to the demoscene?

It would be cool if there was a little corner of it dedicated to making demos that ran specifically on GLIDE or at least used OPEN-GL or DIRECT X 3D but designed to push the 3DFX hardware to the limits of its features & capability's.

It's always interesting to see what people are doing with there old hardware like the commodore 64 and Spectrum and Amiga demo scenes , still writing code and showing off there capability's, and I'm always surprised to see what some of these old machines are capable of today, so wouldn't it would be cool to see a group of people making demos that show off the old 3DFX hardware to its limits and make us think "wow! is that really running on a voodoo" .

I know people have gone to a lot of effort to get newer games to run on 3DFX tech, but wouldn't it be nice to see a 3DFX 'following' in the demo scene also?

Or is there just nobody in the 3DFX community with that kind of knowledge base/programming background?

Perhaps contact could be made with some of the major demoscene contributors to see if any of them would be interested in working on voodoo based hardware?

After all, the demo's wouldn't have to be strictly voodoo only, so they could still run on other systems, but it would still be interesting to see what can be done on a voodoo with a bit of programming skill.

when i get my v5500 pci, will it be running at 66mhz bus or 33mhz bus?

i'm sure i read somewhere that the old PCI bus in newer computers can run at 66mhz?

And I will be fitting this to my old AMD 64 3500+ system.

I decided it was too much effort trying to decide and find the best 3.3v AGP slotted board and chip combination. So at least with this PCI version of the card I can eventually use it on my intel i5 750 system once I've upgraded to something better one day.

i'm after a motherboard and CPU for use with my AGP voodoo5 5500 .

needs to be compatible with AGP 1.0 standard 3.3v obviously.

ideally i want something like an 3100XP, but anything faster than an xp1800 will do .

I was just wondering what the best OS is for using a voodoo 5 5500 AGP?

witch one will give best performance and also still have 16bit installer compatibility for older games such as Need For Speed 2 SE.

hi,.. can i use my STEREO 3D glasses with a v5 5500? i have edimentional LCD shutter glasses.

I think I remember seeing an option for it in another set of driver I installed b4, but that was on win ME and on my 'other' PC.


can i install something that will give me the same option with these SFFT drivers?

the 3d detect thingy detected GLIDE but when i try to run the game the pc 'resets' and starts booting again.

any ideas? has any1 had this game running?

need a newer driver than the 3dfx made.
