Title: 3D Plugins for FSAA in 2D games????
Post by: Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman on 16 January 2005, 18:11:43
I read on a forum that Voodoo5 FSAA in 2D is possible through some kind of "3D plugins". Unfortunately they don't have anymore details about it. Is that true? Where could I find this "plugin"?

They called it lewpy's plugin or something.

And it Maximum 3D review on Voodoo5, they also said FSAA has impact on 2D games, like slight`sprite smoothing on StarCraft, and definite terrain smoothing on Diablo2.

IIRC FSAA is done by multiplying the picture's resolution and then averaging colors of adjacent pixels. Isn't that true? Then I guess FSAA should also work in 2D (like those "upsampling" technique in MPEG), am I correct?
