Here we go again, enjoy....

The paint decided to lift for some reason, so I took advantage of it and turned them into Hulk vains.

This one is just me playing around with the vain look and the Hulk letters that I cut out.

And here's a couple of gut shots

I still have to take a couple a good night shots, now where did I put my camera...

I can't remember where I saw it, but some guy had done the same thing. The side of the case had a large 3DFX logo window on the side, looked pretty sweet. I'll have to have a look for it.

One suggestion would be to light the case with the colors of 3DFX. Either combo colors or one specific color. Also if you know of someone in the industry of laser or water cutting, you should get them to make an 80mm or 120mm fan grill with the 3DFX logo.

I have also found with my case modding experience that a black case makes for a great pallet for all kinds of colors, and they stand out more, providing the black coatings are done right. If you really want to do a great paint job, primer, primer, primer, I can't stress enough that primer makes for a great base and even fills in small minor defect and scratches.

Modding and overclocking / Yet another case mod
19 September 2005, 02:02:53
The window really wasn't all that hard to cut. I used a Dremel tool with fibreglass reinforced cutting disks. I just took my time and when I had it cut out, I used the drum sanders to finalize the edges and round out the corners.
I got a few more pics coming, I just want to finish with one more cut in the front to take a green LED 120mm fan.

Yes it's me again, with yet another case mod. This time I'm going for a black and green look. Green on the inside, it's going to be a "HULK" case. The one in the other thread is now being transformed into a "Spider-Man" case for my 3 year old son. Not to hard realy just got to add some red led fans and some stickers.

I'll keep you updated on the "HULK" case as I go along. Right now I've stripped it down and making some minor Dremel adjustments to allow for 2 80mm rear fans. Then this is where I'm in decision of either to put 2 80mm in the front or a 120mm. The side panels have already been sanded and primed and sanded again. Tomorrow I'll give them some paint coatings while I finish cutting the case and prime that to.

L8R for now

Thanks Arch, I'm 90% sure this is the card I want. My games should look alot sweeter compared to the ageing MX400.

That little more is close to $100 more in Canada.Well it depends where you shop. I simply refuse to buy over the net(It's just a me thing). For the fact that I'm going to give this system to my son when's he's a liitle older, I think the XT is more in my price range and will do the job for my son.

Now as for me....[}:)]

OK, I'm just really confused. I have a Soyo 7vba133u motherboard that is AGP4x capable, I'm currently running a GeForce2 MX400 64MB AGP(although it's being reported as a 32MB) and I'm looking to upgrade to a better graphics card. The problem I'm having is that there are so many choices of cards. I really don't know what one to choose. Could any of you guys give me some suggestions as to what card to get and that my mobo can handle?

I don't want to go to expensive as it is a cheap system, but I plan on giving it to my son and build my own from scratch, so lets say anywhere from $150-$250. Brand name is not an issue.

Cheers

Modding and overclocking / Case Mod
04 December 2004, 08:07:41
Hi all

I've taken my ordinary white case and sanded it smooth and painted and sanded and painted and sanded, with multiple layers of black paint and Maguires cut polish and final cut coatings. The inside was generic white and now it is red, my case is like looking into a mirror(a black mirror any how). I swear you can see everything in it like you would a mirror. Some of my friends says it's better then a paint job on a car. I think I might have found my calling...LOL. Anybody need a paint job?

I just finished cutting a hole in my new front plexiglass window for my clear 4 LED 80mm fan. It's positioned below my CD/DVD rom burner in the other 2 bays. Also I have cut a 120mm fan hole for the bottom front and cut a 80mm & 20mm exhaust fans, man do I love case modding.

Total time 30hrs
8hrs fan hole cutting(4 fans) and window(plexi was free with extras)
22hrs paint time(a dozen coats with sanding in between)

Well here we go. For all those who want to see my case mod.The two with the Canadian beer and Lord Stanley's cup are my personal favorites.Yes those are reflections.

EDIT: Here's a few more new pics with LED fans.

AMD Video Cards / Dumb question of the day
27 October 2004, 03:02:26
Cheers guys.

On a side note, Which do you think would perform better a Voodoo 5 5500 64MB PCI or a NVidia MX400 64MB AGP?

Can I have both a PCI and AGP video card hooked up at the same time?

But choose which one to use in the BIOS of course, right?
