I'm wondering if it is possible to run my Voodoo2 12MB with a Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI
and then also run a GeForce FX 5900XT

giving me 3 displays...the Voodoo2/5446 combo would be display 3
and the 5900XT would handle displays 1 and 2

and i could play Glide games (or any game for that matter, that the Voodoo2 can handle) on the 3rd display

would this work?
and if so
what drivers do i need as far as the 3dfx card is concerned

dang boy, that Voodoo5 5500 is scoring like my Radeon 9600, that is just sick dude, a grpahics card nearly 5 years old, the nVidia equivalent (GeForce2) couldn't even do UT2K4 worth hardly anything, the GF4 might, but the fact that your getting simmilar performance to a 9600, that is just wicked...

$30 for equivlanet power to my $115 card...wowza
i'm thinking a V5 5500 is what i'm sticking in my level 3 rig (the #3 in speed) still, that is just amazing dude

are you trying it with just 1 Voodoo2?
maybe get a second one and SLI it, for more power
also, i've seen it run on Voodoo2's, i'm guessing that is what your talking about with graphics bugs
the whole screen looked orange and it couldn't do the shader stuff

Voodoo4/5 Discussions / v5 6k DVI/ VO

if it's got DVI-I (the DDR V4 did AFAIK, and the Spectre did) it can do Component Video out, only adapters I know of are from ATI but...i'm sure you could live with that

the Voodoo3 3500TV had VIVO if I remember correctly, hmmm, there is probably some adapter you could get, but i dont think the V5 6000 or 5500 came stock with vid out

idk if this would help, some dude on my other fourm was being an ass and posted a soft mod from a 9700Pro to a 9800Pro
it of course didn't actually do anything but change the way the driver, not the game, saw the card

so Windows, Bel-arc, and anything else (including Catalyst) saw the thing as a 9800Pro
and it upped the clocks

didn't do much else, it wasn't extremly hard to do, just took some time, about 30 minutes

would something simmilar be do-able, just make farcry thing you've got a GeForce2 GTS or something running in there, and then once it boots switch to OpenGL and play it?

Voodoo2 Discussions / 3dfx game list

ok, um...most games that are DirectX 7.0 or earlier
have the ablity to do 3dfx Glide
why not just do OGL? the 3dfx cards did well in it too, but i know that HL1, CS: CZ, Hitman 1, and a few others are Glide capable

mostly games that are from the Voodoo2/Voodoo3 era are gonna be glide, and the Voodoo4/5 era are probably Glide or OGL and of course most all are d3d

uh...could it be a Voodoo1?
i saw a pic of one of em, the chips are stacked like that, and most Voodoo2's have 3 3dfx tagged chips
my guess is a Voodoo1, but it might be a concept Voodoo2
