Hi Everyone,
I used to play Falcon 4.0 years ago under Win98 with Voodoo2 SLI no problems until my CD got scratched and that was it until I noticed it was abandonware recently, so I D/L it[:p]
Now I installed it on 2 of my machines running Windows XP, one with 2 x Voodoo2's in SLI, and the other with a Voodoo5 5500 SLI
But when I run the standalone tool "mprtest" it shows 3 drivers (software, Direct3D, and Glide), but in game it only offers Software and Direct3D.
BTW I have tried placing the glide2x.dll files in the c:\windows\system, c:\windows, and the F4 folder (because some older software doesn't see them in c:\windows\system32) but it still doesn't offer glide in game.
Help!

What "glide2x.dll " are you using ?
you may need to run in win9x compatibility mode as well.and make sure you are not using the glide2x to glide3x wrapper.
Thanks for the speedy responses.
OK, lets stick with the simple case - the Voodoo2's in SLI.
I'm using glide2x.dll version 2.56.0.3496 (the one bundled with Fastvoodoo XP 4.0 Gold).
Extract from readme.doc says:
Quote
The following video cards require at least these driver versions:
3dfx Voodoo 2 glide2x.dll 2.53 or higher
3dfx Banshee glide2x.dll 2.53 or higher
3dfx Voodoo glide2x.dll 2.46 or higher
Do you have any suggestions of a better glide2x.dll to try? I've tried the Nvidia glide2x.dll files from http://www.shifter.sk/helppage/default_fix.htm but when I run "mprtest" the voodoo modes shown above are no even there!
try the radeon one.
Yeah, tried that too. It works in mprtest but still only software or D3D in game.[:(]
Might just be a WinXP thing because I remember glide works in Win98.
