Title: Soyo DRAGON compatibility with Voodoo5
Post by: Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman on 09 December 2004, 15:43:06
Hi, I read somewhere in the board that Soyo Dragon KT333 is the best mobo for Voodoo5 5500 AGP. Also, KT333 is mentioned several times as the most compatible mobo for Voodoo5 5500.

But I read in Soyo website, that *any* DRAGON motherboard supports Universal AGP with adjustable voltage.

Question: does it mean that *any* Soyo DRAGON mobo will work with Voodoo5 AGP? I also read that Soyo DRAGON SY-K8USA only supports 8X/4X AGP (no 2X/1X AGP mentioned). Will it work with V5 5000? Thanks.

As I know, all Dragons with VIA KT-chipset, exept of the SY-KT600 DRAGON Plus, are compatible.

With a V5 5500 Agp and the chipset VIA, avoid all the chipsets after the KT333 (KT400, 600, 800 ...) they are not compatible with the Agp 2x and the 3.3 v.
Avoid also the KT333CF, this is a version lite of the KT400 (like the SY-KT333 DRAGON Plus).
Or try to find a V5 5500 Pci.
