I've been using this name since NovaLogic released F-22 Raptor back in 1996 (I think it was 96) Kept flying with Creeping Death from F-22 Raptor through F-16 Multirole Fighter right to F-22 Lightning 3... Too bad NovaLogic abandoned their Flight Sim games for the ground games like Delta Force and DF Black Hawk Down. Their Joint Operations game is not too bad though.

Nice name ArchAngel.... I wonder where you got the idea for a nice name like that?

Chips,
Sorry to hear you got beat on Ebay. I have bought a lot on Ebay and have been lucky so far to deal with honest sellers.

Now for Ebay... You should submit a complaint because saying "untested" doesn't give the seller the right to sell you something that is clearly damaged. That is fraud IMO.

IMO it will cost you less if you buy a used Voodoo5 5500 off Ebay than it will cost you to fix a broken card.

Currently there are also 3 PCI Voodoo5 5500s available on Ebay. It's been a long while since I've seen more than 1 PCI Voodoo5 on Ebay at one time.

From what I see those HS/fans aren't Tennmax Lasagna's, they are TennMax Stealth V3 Fighter's.

IMO, the Stealth V3 Fighter is the BEST fan for the Voodoo3/Voodoo5 EVER! Read about them here: http://tennmax.com/voodoo3/stealth_v3.htm

It might be hard to find either a 9700 Pro or a 9500 Pro since they have been out of production so long. Both will work very well on an older system though. I'm sure Ebay will be the place to look.

The only problem you might have is your power supply. An older BX system probably has a 250w P/S or less and those 2 cards should be run with a 300w P/S or better. Also, unfortunately WinME is the only Win9x OS that's supported if you are going to use Win9x. If you are going to run the new card in the system you have listed in your sig I would recommend adding a little more memory to the system unless you intend on running Win2000. WinXP will run a little better w/512Mb RAM even though M$ says it runs fine w/256Mb RAM. Win2000 will run fast and smooth on that system just the way it is with a Radeon card for sure!

You can't translate the page in english on VoodooAlert ?
that would be easier for many people. ;)
Firefox has a plug-in that translates WEB pages from any of 12 different languages into English with the click of your mouse. It does it correctly too.

Outstanding.... I'll give them a try ASAP and let you know how they work on my system. Thanks again...

KoolSmokey,
Good to see you are still around and working hard for all of us. Thank you for your hard work and time.

These are Voodoo2 drivers that work under WinXP?
If so will SLI work correctly?

Right now I have a dual boot and I'm running my 24Mb Voodoo2 SLI setup under Win98se. It would be great if I could totally get away from Win9x.

I'm sorry if you think I'm being rude because I'm not. I really want to see the front on the card. I don't see that as being rude at all. If you're willing to post a picture of the back, why not the front?

In another thread someone was asking about memory speed on Voodoo2 cards. I said I had 2 cards with 125MHz memory. I posted pictures to show the cards really exist. I would never consider someone as being rude for wanting to see the card.

That can be the back of any card. I would like to see the front of the card with the memory chips clearly marked 1Mb.

First of all, a bit of history. They WERE actually 6MB Voodoo 1 boards (Canopus Pure3D/Miro HighScore), not talking of Quantum - Obsidian boards, and not putting Rushes into this. However, they were not of a regular design. The board on that picture looks like a pure classic one, but: i have a 12 MB Voodoo 2 with 1MB memory chips (12 total, one side only) - perhaps this board uses a "stronger" RAM, too...
I would like to see a picture of your 12Mb Voodoo2 w/1Mb memory chips.
Who made this 1Mb memory chip Voodoo2 card?

baskapteijn,
Shouldn't that be 384Mb SDRAM?

Welcome to the site.

Are you trying to tell us you actually got a old 300MHz system to correctly ID a 160Gb HD? That in itself is an achievement.

You can run WinXP on that system. A friend is running WinXP on a Pent 200 MMX w/512Mb RAM. Windows takes a while to load but once the system is up, it runs fine.

Unless there are matching chips on the back of the card that's a 4Mb Voodoo Graphics card. Each chip on the Voodoo1 and Voodoo2 cards were 512Kb. Most Voodoo Graphics cards were 4Mb with the exception of a few 6Mb Voodoo Rush cards. (I have a 6Mb Intense 3D Voodoo Graphics card) I have never heard of a 8Mb Voodoo1 and I don't think they were ever made.
