Title: Voodoo5 5500 + Generals Zero : Hour.....
Post by: Obi-Wan Kenobi on 19 November 2003, 16:25:57
Hello everyone!!!

At the moment I want to try something out with my Napalm 5500 machine.

AMD AthlonXP 2700+ Thoroughbred-B @ 2167Mhz
ASUS A7V333-R VIA KT333
1x 512MB PC-2700 DDR333
3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP 64MB

Win98SE Fully updated
DirectX 9.0b
Amigamerlin 2.9

Anyway, is it possible to run C&C Generals ZERO : HOUR with a Voodoo5 5500?
If it is how can I do that do i need to change some things in the .ini files or is it just a matter of settings  I need to go through?

I hope someone can help me out, with all respect! :)

Regards,

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

how does normal generals run on a voodoo5? i run win2k + SP4 and amigamerlin 3.0 + directx 9.0b. without 3danalyze it says i have to use directx 8.1 or better, with 3danalyze i can run the intro movie, but then i get a CTD.

I think this is an area where VF really accells (and one of the few things still going for VF, especially since the driver archives are a joke). Many of the users are very good with figuring out fixes for games, and this list is in the process of being extended. 3dfxzone is more like where the programmers hang out. But this compatability list is available to any user who wishes to access it, I don't think there would an issue due to a conflict of the forums, since this really isn't much related to the forums. An example of somthing similar, many of VFs regular users link to falconfly's archive (but not the forum) in their sigs, myself included.

hmmmz, it would at least be a good idea to have a clear link on 3dfxzone.it or a sticky post in one of the forums... :)
