Ok dudes, my task is to run PoP: Sands of Time.
Just for info, when the game starts, it throws me out to the desktop (even before the videos) with the following: "The game has ended unexpectedly. View the Readme file for technical support."
Well i have to appoint that i have already played PoP1 in the past on my PC (which is : Durom 800mhz, 352SDRAM, GeForceMX440)
One dude told me to use 3d analyze to run the game, but i just can't launch it. No window or process is pooping up when i click on the .exe file. Maybe i'm doing it wrong. So - What should i do?
Please help me.
Look at the guide in my signature
Si senior, i've read the guide. My problem is exactly at the end of page 1, where you need to click on the .exe file and get a window pooping up. This window just doesn't launch - nor the process. I've asked one of my friends to try it with the archive i gave him - it worked on his PC.
So then I reinstalled the Windows (cuz i had planned already, otherwise i wouldn't have done so) and - same effect with both PoP and 3D-Analyze.
And that is why i'm writing here ;).
Do other games start correctly?
Try start 3DA from the command prompt, and check if some errors appears
No Response from cmd prompt either - i've tried that.
But Yes - other games run properly. I've played tons of different games on this PC, though i'm not a super-mega-gamer. It's
just that both with my brother - we've had this computer for years, and used it a lot.
As far as i can say - it should run properly. Usually... I really don't know what to do, because everything else is fine.
Try with another version of 3dAnalyze
What's your motherboard and O.S.?
Gosh, it worked with 2.31 ver. Screw me - i'm sure i tried 2.36b and 2.34 and both didn't work...
Well i apologize for my incompetence, But there is still a problem.
Now that i can run the program itself i need to make the adjustments for PoP1. Because without any of them, the game crashes the same way.
Ok so here's a little info i got on a few tries - With the "disabled rendering" check on, the game doesn't crash but i don't have screen either. Using "disabled lighting"; "disabled two sided stencil"; or the "Anti-detect: shaders & textures" modes doesn't change the situation from not using them at all.
So... there are a lot of possible combinations indeed - what do you suggest?
P.S - I'm using Windows XP Professional Lite version (tuned by a user, not a Microsoft original disc)
check dx8 caps and pixel chader caps, if necessary check also t&l caps
