well it works fine with Amigamerlin 2.9 + geommetry Assist :)
I used Win98SE though when I was playing GTA3 on my Voodoo4 4500 PCI back then , I'm sure a V3 3K can run the game @ 800 x 600 x16 medium low settings :)

this problem is almost unsolvable.seems like the only real way how to get it working is using an intel based CPU together with windows98se and the old 1.03.xx voodoo3 driver.the game simply locks up for most people..

The game runs indeed on a Voodoo 4 even with an Amd Cpu (at least with a TB 1200 when i tried it) and no need geometry assist BUT with a Voodoo 3 and an Amd cpu, that seems "mission impossible" (the game locks up as the beginning).

ps47 is right and the solution is known now : it sounds that you will be more lucky with an Intel cpu - Win98SE - the driver 1.03.00 (the first 3dfx driver for DirX7 - and not the version for Dirx6) and desktop in 640*480 / 16 bits or 800*600 / 16 bits

edit : an other idea, though never tried  ;)

The first fix (the driver 1.03.00 for DirX6) or/and the second (on Voodoo ALert) ?

However, I just can't play GTA3 with my Voodoo3, PIII 500mhz, WinME system!!!!!
It's because my card is only has 8MB VRAM!!!!!!!!

I have same problem with my voodoo3 3000. When I used the original directx7 driver form my cd wihch I get with my card, the Game works very well, but the Textures looks bad. As I used the 1.07.xx drivers for win98 the textures looks now well but the Game stuck after 5 minutes.I don't know what to do now.
