I'm wondering if a standard VSA-100 has any kind of hardware video acceleration (e.g. for DVD/VCD)
and i wonder if anyone would tell me if drivers like SFFT has enabled any kind of them..
coz when i play .TS HD videos(which is basically MPEG II with higher bitrate)
the Voodoo 5 5500 seems just don't have enough power for it and the video lags...

I wonder if any Voodoo users need better video playback with Voodoos~~

it's a very good song(actually maybe good melody only coz i can't even undrestand a single word of the lyrics)

anybody have more information (the meaning of the lyrics, more of their songs, anyway to find their album outside Europe, etc etc....)

Thanks a lot!!

Games / a benchmark for people like Gundam
26 August 2005, 12:03:08
the PC version of Universal Century Online Demo:
http://www.universalcentury.net/02_play_meth_bench.html
download the 98.7 MB file and then run it...

i can run the demo with my nForce 2 IGP as it just needs a 32MB Direct 3D Compatible Card, wonder if V4/V5 can run it with better framerate/ better image quality..
enjoy!

I mean from an older version to a newer version
recently i've got a V5 5500, it uses Hyundai -6ns RAM and its BIOS version is 1.06
but i can find ver. 1.18 (modded or unmodded), my question is from here...does the new BIOS give more stability or perfomance than the old original BIOS or actually flash to new one or not give the same thing?

P.S. another question, what is the difference between the 1.18 original and the 1.18 mod dream intro?

thanks for answering my questions~~

I know it would be very slow, but i still wanna have a try
i tried 3DA, but the anti-detect mode seems doesn work(it still reports the games need more texture unit and pixel shaders even i select both anti-detect mode)
if i tried the emulate caps, it just give me D3D error, so what can i do?
thanks a lot~~
I am using V5 5500 and SFFT Alpha 32

http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=140

some sites suggest that with the work of physical calculation shift from GPU/CPU to PPU, the performance of GPU in texture processing will be much greater than now....maybe a V5 will have much better visual performance with this PPU....very much looking forward

Games / Anybody wanna try Battlefield 2 Demo?
14 June 2005, 11:04:20
The Demo is here
http://www.tweakers.net/meuktracker/9775

The Game is very RAM starving, people claimed that 1GB RAM is the minimum to run high framerate..i dunno it's true or false, coz my computer is too low-end have a try

tweaked the config file so that it uses hardware acceleration now
(i.e. you can set the texture detail and effect detail as you like)
it is sluggish, but it's due to the slow CPU (still that old P4M 1.2GHz)
it is smooth in 90% scenerio and the details are much better than using software rendering..(maybe due to 175MHz core/memory clock)

all details high and 2X AA in V.Control

It's inspired byhttp://www.forum.mitrax.de/viewtopic.php?p=37149#37149

the mouse pointer is flickering and there is some problems with the intro screen and loading screen(screenshots later)

CAUTION! Backup the Original one before use it

http://www.download.com/The-Punisher-demo/3000-7466_4-10345018.html
It uses hardware T&L and needs 64MB Video memory
i can't run it even i use 3DAnalyze...
seems the 64MB is a problem
and it don't have a config file for me to do some basic tweaking...too bad
anybody have any idea if it can run on Voodoos?
#14
It have to be run with 3D Analyze "Emulate T&L Caps" in order to start
it's quite(actually is very) lag when you crusing alongthe streets, but once you start your mission in some place(e.g. fighting inside a room, it's very very smooth)

P.S. the game seems can't run at 16bit color depth..

Voodoo4/5 Discussions / just got my Voodoo 4 4500
20 January 2005, 15:31:04
I thought it's a AGP one, but what i get is a PCI version, but that's anothe story

I installed  SFFT Alpha 22, MESAFX as ICD, and V.Control
After i set all to maximum, i started GLExcess..
although it's slow (actually not very slow), it's Image Quality is Superb.....I've never thought that GLExcess should look like for a Voodoo card...
Totally Satisfied (as the machine's main Function is to do Photoshop, Surfing the internet and playing Kid's game...)
