This is a simple problem with a Simple solution

Simply Increase the Level of Detail

Download Rivatuner @ www.guru3d.com and go into Rivatuner and go click the triangle within a square button next to the name of your nvidia drivers then go to the D3D icon and click it then simply change your level of detail which would probably be @ 0 to - something if u experiment with that bar so u can find the one which suits you best.

I love how Voodoo 5 drivers have this bar built into it.

actually, I have found an article on AGP Pro and the card it refers to is a ATI fireGL. apparently it was AGP on steroids... faster frequencies and hotter...
#6
I believe it's for the infamous AGP pro cards... I have a motherboard as well with AGP pro slot, and I haven't found any reason to remove that chip other then using a AGP pro card which I haven't ever seen...

if it's a black screen in win9x for NFSU 2 turn your settings detail bar down to zero, I've had the same problem when first installing on my friend's radeon 9700... it would have a black screeen except for the map. This happens because NFSU 2 misinterpreted the cards ability. I am not sure if this applies for the voodoo problem with NFSU 2 tho

hi Onkel

that's great to hear... could you enlighten us with your other driver settings...

@Osckhar
Lately, I've been having the same problems as well with the random reboots when I am surfing the web or something like that....It only happens when I leave my computer on for a while and start using it again tho....

@Onkel Adrian
Alot of D3D games need single chip, for example with the free game, vsys gaiden. I have tried everything and I saw the exact same problem but since this game is quite small it always crashed instead of rebooting my computer but when I changed to single chip mode I found that. the graphics were fixed as well as it not crashing. Maybe that is the problem?

From doing research on google I quickly found this solution

"most of us have found you have to enable the /realtime flag with r_smp 1 to get SMP to work. Unfortunately, it drops your fps by 20% or so instead of increasing it. I don't believe the detonator2 drivers are SMP equipped. So, here's the setting you need in your shortcut, but honestly, I'd skip it for now.

C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe /c start /realtime D:\Games\Quake_III_Arena\quake3.exe +set r_smp 1

Season directory information to taste..."

That might help. I believe this freezing has nothing to do with the video card. I just think more people with nvidia cards have posted this problem because back then alot of people had nvidia cards compared to ATI cards.

It is very possible for this to happen actually.

shows hope that Half-life2 may use directX 7 to play.
