Nah, they're about the same. 3DMark doesn't produce the same result everytime you run it.

nah, there about what i score... overclocked to a 1825+, same chipset and 256 mb ram.
if you'd benchmark again , but using windows 98 se, you'd get a higher score...

My mainBoard just can up FSD from 100 to 133. How can you up more FSD?

Don't go jacking the FSB (I think that's what you mean) anywhere unless you know damn well what you're doing. That said, my voodoo box benchmarks:
CPU: Pentium 2 350mhz@467mhz
(FSB: 133, MP: 3.5, no L2 cache due to damaged chip)
MOBO: Abit BH6
(BIOS SS, latest drivers whatever those are)
VID: Voodoo 5 5500 AGP
(BIOS: 1.18, Amigamerlin 2.9)
OS: Windows 98 SE
(OEM Version)
Score:
Default 3DMark 2001SE: 501
(hey what do you expect, it's a Pentium 2 for cripe's sake)
I could bench my other computer, but that would be unfair...no voodoo power (although I will get a working V2 soon!)
corn:
i have to go with Amp_man, dont change the fsb (i.e. Overclock) when you dont are familiar with overclocking.
I assume you have the ECS K7s5a, just like me. the official bios just has 3 options (100/100, 100/133, 133/133), but the clockgenerator which is used allows for more frequencies.
you can use those others fsb's with CPUcool/speedfan, or chFSB, or by flashing the cheepoman bios.
if you are interested, i suggest you take a long read on this site: www.ocworkbench.com/ecs and especially the guides which are provided at the top of the page.

Perhaps if you overclock your CPU and the V5 you might get the highest score.

Yes.

I cannot raise the FSB more than 172. The v6k is blocked. With XP-Mobile I can get near 4000 points (15x166= 2490MHz)

Some notes:
- Windows98se does get you more points. I ran my P4 at 2,63GHz but with WindowsXP pro SP1 and used AmigaMerlin 3.0XP. I got a little under 200 points less than the Windows 98se overclock in this test.
- I have no idea at what speed my system memory was running at the time of the overclock, I apologize for that.
- I know there are differences when it comes to the operating software but I'm kinda sick and tired of reinstalling stuff since my last encounter with computer-hijacking malware (had to re-install WinXP like 4 times in 2 days and it took me over 2 months to finally get my system right again >:()
- I have no idea which Catalyst drivers I am using. The way everything is organized in this software is so messy compared to the 3dfx tools. Even a simple thing like finding out the version number is nearly impossible; you get 3 different ones for three seperate rendering engines ???

In my travels, I have noted that the Voodoo architecture scales based more on FSB speed than CPU speed. The faster your FSB, the more powerful your Voodoo card is going to be. That is the only explaination why a dual Athlon MP setup scores worse than a single Athlon XP setup. One is 133Mhz(DDR), the other is 166Mhz(DDR).

any sugestions ?
Yep – a new CPU. Every Voodoo is very CPU dependant due to the lack of HW T&L, mainly when testing such a T&L-optimized Voodoo-hater like the 3DMark series. ;)

guess using a voodoo56k upto 8k should be possible with some tweaks ;)
and by the way intel machines aren't that much worse at all using a voodoo5 5500. my tualatin 1,4 is pretty close to the athlon xp in all game-benches I did (Q3A 110(AMD) ~ 101 (Intel). only the 3dmark benches are showing a difference between 300~500 points.

Hi,
I know it's a long time but if you have the hardware, could you run some benchmark to compare with my results in that thread (http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16745)?
Do you know if that sempron 2600 s754 is such a bad cpu for voodoo gpu in general? I'll try to get my hands on the best or second best cpu that ms-7032 can handle if that could help.

Greetings to all members of 3dfxzone.it
I am new to the forums, I've read if for quite a while but never posted before.
I want to express my gratitude to people like Daniel Borca, Koolsmoky and many other developers whom have made possible that we can use our 3dfx hardware even today, and to all the members who have helped so much to keep 3dfx alive, I hope I can to collaborate to go on.
I saw alex.turovsky benchmarks, and I realized that he has very similar hardware to mine, so I wanted to share my benchmarks with you.
