Games / Counter-Strike errors with Voodoo 2 SLI

Alright success! Koolsmoky's drivers worked and all the OpenGL drivers work also. It appears I'm not getting as good a FPS now in the bouncy ball demo (99FPS from 147FPS) so I have some tweaking to do which is suggested in Koolsmoky's readme.

I'll have to wait for the new CPU though before anything as it runs 100% under load and it is probably the limiting factor in what the PC can run. It can hit 100fps but will go to 25-30fps in fire fights. So thanks ps47 :D I'll keep at it.

I've also got Fear test demo up and running smoothly as well so maybe I have something to add to the screenshot forum.

Hi ps47, thanks for the links. I've already seen the second one but decided to try Koolsmoky's drivers as well. Will let you know how I get on :)

OK I really want to get this game working for LAN/Online but all I have managed is Software mode which is giving me all of 15fps.

I've followed the posts here to place the OpenGL32.dll in the counter-strike folder. I've tried WickedGL 2.00 and 3.02 as well as MesaFX. WickedGL simply crashes to desktop and that's it. If I use MesaFX the game starts up but before the menu appears a blank error box pops up with the title Error. 'OK' and then it just closes.

I then got rid of the old glide2x and glide3x in system32. This then threw the error "Error initializing gl driver, check that the file 'opengl32.dll' exists". I then placed the updated glide2x.dll (v3.2) in the counter-strike folder and I get the same blank error box as before.

So now what? I would try Win98SE but Creative never made drivers for my X-Fi sound card so I can't really do that. I've tried putting opengl drivers in the gldrv folder as well and no joy. Would do anything to get this game working but it looks grim [:(]
