Title: Running a Steam game using 3D Analyze
Post by: Koslov227 on 07 September 2008, 21:54:56
Alright I'm Trying to get a Valve game to run through Steam while utilizing the rules that I have preset in 3D Analyze.  The only executable that I can get anywhere with is the Steam.exe one.  Of course this executable only brings up steam.  I know that adding "-applaunch 440" to the end of the Steam.exe shortcut opens TF2 directly, but this does not get me into the game that I want to have running.  Does any one know how to modify or creat a new executable that will force TF2 or any other Steam based game to open bypassing the middleman (Steam UI)?

EDIT Let me rephrase this question/post:  Has anyone gotten a Steam Game to run through 3D Analyze?  If you have, please aim me down the same path you took so I can try to get some of the Half-Life games working... specifically TF2 in the MSI Wind.

I don't think it's possible, because the game il loaded by steam client.
You should try with an older version of 3DA, there was the possibility to select a preloader executable

is where your game directories should be just like a normal folder BUT
double clicking this exe will load up steambut your game should initialize straight away the only problem im having is that loading up any steam game through 3d analyze always comes up with the error

Why Don't you try Just Selecting The Steam One....It'll Trick Steam Into Thinking its Those Settings Are in your comp and then you Can Play Your Games To your hearts content.

I would try it myself but my computers admin (my bro) Won't Let me Reinstall my steam games.

:D
