Title: Gaming with WINDOWS XP

I am trying to install THE PAINKILLER game at my PC.After installing I cannot run it as it shows the message:"ERROR:Could not initialize Directx 9 Renderer". Can someone help me  in running the game?I installed Directx 9 summer 2003 version but still the game doesn't play.Anyone that can help me with step by step instructions?Thank you.

What graphic card do you use ?
Please post some info about your PC, it will make it easier to make some suggestions...

1.5 GHz Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor; 384 MB RAM; 8X CD-ROM; 1.2 GB hard drive space; 64 MB DirectX 8.1 card with hardware Transform & Lighting support (NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or better).[V]

You have an S3 Pro Savage?
How old is that card? from 1998 or so?
There's no way you can run the game with that card, I think.

I am not sure about that. The Savage Pro may have a T&L unit, but it was reportet to be faulty.
Maybe 3D-Analyze can help here.
Painkiller was somewhat tricky to run on a Voodoo5, too...
I have the game at home, but had no time to test it yet. I will give it a try in the evening...
