It seems that the famous
V.Control overclocks only 1 of the two VSA-100 GPUs on your Voodoo 5 5500, so when you overclock to something like 220mhz and think you're tough, in fact you did almost nothing !

This is the only tool that overclocks both of the Voodoo 5 5500 GPUs:
VSA100 Overclocker from the developer KoolSmoky

a letter from the developer himself:

VSA100 Overclocker ver.1.00

April 3, 2004

Hardware: Voodoo4 4500, Voodoo5 5500, Voodoo5 6000
Platform: Windows 9x/NT4/2k/XP

Currently both V.Control (my bad! :P) and VooDoo5 Overclocker set the
frequency only on the first VSA100. So if you are trying to overclock,
the card will still run rest of the chips at factory settings and you
will see only a marginal improvement in speed since the card will run
as fast as it's slowest VSA100.

This tool will overclock *all* VSA100 chips on the card. The frequency
is set on-the-fly so no reboots are required. The chips will return
to factory settings when the PC is rebooted.

First install V.Control and copy files, VSA100_OC.exe.manifest, VSA100
_OC.exe, and VSA100_OC.dll to the directory of V.Control.

ex) C:\Program Files\KSmoky\V_Ctrl

Unload V.Control from the system tray.

Run VSA100_OC.exe.

The rest should be self-explanatory.

Note: VSA100 Overclocker and V.Control cannot be run at the same time.

If you have questions come visit the english forums at www.3dfxzone.it
V.Control is hosted at http://www.3dfxzone.it/koolsmoky

Enjoy!

SO . . . in order to overclock the Voodoo 5 5500 we need:
1) download V.Control 1.82 beta
2) Download VSA100 Overclocker (and follow the order above, when the overclock itself is done from VSA100 Overclocker and not from V.Control(!)
both here: https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/3dfx/voodoo5/tweakers/

SFFT: kudos for still developing for the scene 8 years after the fall oof the legend.
Guys,
Thes new SFFT 1.0 sucks in Glide mode with my Unreal Tournament 1999
At 1920X1200 on my Dell 2407wfp it gives lousy results. There are shakings, and electric vibrating lines across the screen. When trying to exit the game, the pc stucks with 4bit colours and then restart itself !

I ran te same Glide mode with Amigamerlin 3.1 R11 (https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/3dfx/voodoo5/drivers/voodoo45/windowsxp/) and could get smooth 1600x1200 playback at 30+ FPS !

In Direct 3D mode, this new SFFT 1.0 gives exactly the same framerate at 1920X1200, Dell's 2407WFP native resolution at 26 FPS, EXACTLY what I got from Amigamerlin's 3.1 R11 driver, so there is not even 1FPS more :(

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
BUT this is how it all looks at an amazing 39 FPS on 1920x1200 & 4xFSAA after modded to the bone on my voodoo 5 project machine):

Unreal Tournament(1) 1999

CPU: Intel P III-S Tualatin 1130@1400mhz

GPU: Vodooo 5 5500 @ Stock 166mhz(BIOS 1.18B Amigamerlin 3.11R Driver) 1920x1200 Full Scene Anti Aliasing x4 @ 39 FPS

THIS IS MY VOODOO PROJECT PAGE AND the best cooling in the world for it made in May 2008 !http://www.iopanel.net/forum/thread12920.html

How does it look ? :) like this;
