Title: [V3 3500 TV] Is mpeg-2 encoding done in software?
Post by: perrye on 11 June 2004, 06:28:39
I'm a Linux user, so I have not used the M$ Windows drivers in many years.  I'd like to know if the mpeg-2 encoding is done by software, or if the Voodoo3, or one of the support chips on the board does this?

Since I'm the person currently updating the Linux TV capture drivers at http://v3tv.sourceforge.net/ I do know what all of the chips except the XiLinx xc9572xl actually do.

Any refrences will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Perry
