Title: grSstWinOpen Error on most Glide games
Post by: Carrera on 12 April 2005, 15:47:29
Hi All,
My system:
Pentim 4 2.4 Ghz, MSI board (Intel 915P I think)
1 GB DDR RAM
Geforce 6610XL/128 Megabyte
and I have the 2 Voodoo 2s in SLI right under the graphic card (with a little fan blowing down on all 3 cards and a fan sucking air out on the side).
I installed version 4.0 of the FastVoodoo2 for WinXP drivers.

All Glide games I have tried staop with an
GrSstWinOpen error.
Compatibility settings and changing the resoltion/color depth of the desktop have not helped.
The games I have tried so far:
Need For Speed 2SE
Need for Speed 3
StarSiege (NOT Tribes)
Interstate 76
MechWarrior Titanium Trilogy MecWarrior 2.

Any ideas?
Thanks...

Hi,
Thanks. I found it after posting (sorry about that)
I forgot to mention it is Windows XP Home with SP2 and all the latest updates.
Well I used KoolSmoky's drivers and they work for all the above games except I'76 and MW2.
They both start in 3DFx mode but when I try to go to options or similar items the computer freezes.
Mind you, it does this in D3D mode as well so it is probably related to the game and compatibility more than anything else.
I can't change PCI latency or AGP apeture (it's a PCIE card) so I any other ideas are greatly appreciated. :-)

Most people claim these games don't work under WinXP. I will keep trying though.
