There has been some debate a while ago about sfft's driver performance in widnows 2d.
People reported having slugish desktop and not so good video playback, so i decided to give a 2D benchmark, Blt Test (http://www.stereopsis.com/blttest/) a try.
Unfortunately I have my Voodoo3 on a crapy mobo right now, that has crippled memory throughput

First, resaults with SFFT 1.4


With Amigasport 3.0 ...


...and with windowz xp default driver

1st winows default wins by a little but consistent margin [:p]
2nd SFFT :D
3rd Amigasport [8D]

Tests were done in 1024x768, 32bit, WinXP, Cely900, Abit VA6 m/b
If anyone can confirm these resaults, or point another 2D benchmark, be my guest.
Untill then, SFFT is good for Voodoo3 at 2D also (can be improoved tho)

AMD Video Cards / ATI9600 + Operation Flashpoint

Hi to all:D
A friend of mine tride to play this game on his rig (WinXP, P4@2.6GHz, Ati9600 256MB) and he said he had invisible characters[:0]
So, I said ok, I'll fix the problem, I went to his house with Catalyst 5.11 on a CD, installed it (not removing the old drivers firt) and to my surprise, ...invisible characters again!
On the black sargeant, one can see only his hat, and hands, on other (white people) everything is invisible except their uniform (could this be a racist thing?[}:)]). Shadows are ok though lol:D
Seems to me like z-buffer errors, maybe. So if anyone with an ATI tried this, please inform

I didn't think a DX9 demanding game would run on a V3, but...




it runs with latest mesafx6.3 Pre-release and you can even see walter reflection[8D]

...looks like SoF(1) doesn't like mesafx at all!! Textures appear messy and all mixed up:D[B)]. Any ideas?

It seems the SFFT V3 drivers don't like 32 bit desktop after the 17alpha (17 and 18 releases).
When I launch a D3D game (ut2003) the mouse + keyboard function as if they're still on desktop and I see short desktop flashes[:0].
But when the desktop is at 16 bit, all is well[|)]. Sfft, can you look into it? I really like my desktop 32bit! [8D][:p]

Hi to all. Thikning of replacing my desktop PC with a laptop[:p]. Which proc should I go with? Centrino, P4M, or AMD64[?]. I'm open to sugestions guys[8)]

How can I overclock it?[:I]
My brother has this card and it is really fill rate limited. I tried powerstrip, but the mem clock bar stays greyed out, while the chip clock is @82MHz[xx(]. Mem chips could go as far as 125MHz (8ns)[xx(][xx(]
