Title: 3dfx people
Post by: skinnie on 06 November 2005, 11:48:36
well, there are some  questions in my head..inside this community won't be ex-3dfx engineers?do they love this cards like us or for them there are simply work..past work?
I would be so good to have some people from 3dfx "working" with us..

I think the "best" people (workers) of 3dfx went to Nvidia a loooong time ago.
So, what happened with the cinematic effects they introduced with the GF5 series[?][|)]

I'm sure some of them do. The question is do they have the time? and would they risk their career

You know hardware has it's limits, and there's not much you can do to improve work of old hardware. Of course i agree that some help from ex-3dfx engeneers would bring new breeze into our beloved voodoos..

agrelaphon helping a comunity of old hardware would be bad to nvidia?why?
about th time..well..you're right..but..i think most of people her work or study..and some of them do drivers and that things..

skinnie, some (nvidia bosses) could see that as competition. And competition from inside is unacceptable[B)]

we have Hank (ex 3dfx engineer), and he is as good as anyone would EVER get to work with them on 3dfx stuff.  dborca is no one to sneeze at either.  several others on this board I have not remebered their names, but there are quite a handfull of peeps here that know their stuff, and may not have worked for 3dfx ever.

Another thing to consider,  those programmers and engineers and all others that devellopped the Voodoo's are all peoples minded to build the best new thing for next year ! Ounce it goes on the shelves for consumer, it's past.  They're already looking forward to create better again ! That's where their fun is.  They are credited for that small input they trhrow on a card. Like an optimize chip or bus, driver, cooling, features... named it!
