My idea is that 3DMark 2003 is basically a DirectX9 hardware  benchmark so it must be used with a DX9 video card otherwise it does not have sense

I tried Anim8or under Windows 2K and XP with 5500 and it do not run due to an error while loading.

This software insted goes up well with ATI cards and (16 or 32) color depth.

Hi Skyfrog, welcome here

You never could see "Radeon 8500" listed in the game graphics setup. Just remove WickedGL driver for the game Q3 based one (if you have installed it) then select Default for GL Driver. Now your system will use Radeon card for this one app.
