all you need is doom3 full version and the doom3 patch v1.0 (http://www.voodoo.zarovka.com/).install doom3,and follow the instructions in the readme (watch it,there is a typing error in one of the folders you are supposed to create, but its easy to spot)..

Thank you ps47, I have another question... What does those texture size changeing options in the patch except for changing sizes of textures do? Will it speed up a game if I`ll set it to the smallest textures ? Aditionaly is there some methods of speeding the game up ?

ah this thing with type error... Its not a problem actualy :) It says unpack some stuff and the paths are already made after unpacking with winrar for example :)

With smaller textures the game run faster, and I recommend you'll try the smaller textures. Only for know the maximum fps with your computer ;)

Here are some Tweaks Guides:
http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/doom3
http://www.tweakguides.com/Doom3_1.html

I run Doom3 in a AMD 1600+, 512Mb and two Voodoo2 in SLI, and the game is slow and sometimes it is very slow. I recommend you to create a file called autoexec.cfg and put there all tweaks. It's the best option.

With default settings my results in timedemo demo1 is something around 13.2 fps :D I didnt expected more actualy (look at the comp wich I use) but if there is a way to improve it I`ll head that way :) Thankyou Xasd I`ll chcek those sites of yours :)

Hi,
can I play Doom3 on my System (when TelemachusRhade play it on his System)?
My Computer:
PIII 800 mhz, 256 mb sdram, 133 mhz fsb, voodoo3 3000 AGP, voodoo2 (alone not SLI), win 98

As I saw the pics of patched doom3 on voodoo2, I think the graphics seen like MOHAA, because of this I will try Doom3.

you can,but it will be ugly as hell and sloooooow.but you can try it just for the fun.here goes:

-download the patch from here: http://www.voodoo.zarovka.com/
-install doom3
-install wickedgl (http://www.shifter.sk/helppage/default_fix.htm#wickedgl)
-open the wickedgl folder (usually C:\program files\metabyte\wickedgl),and copy the opengl32.dll file to your doom3 folder
-download msvcr70.dll (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr70),extract it to your doom3 folder
-extract the doom3 voodoo patch to you doom3 folder
-do following (you will need the latest winrar to unpack the pak files):
1) unpack pak004.pk4 into Doom 3\base\
2) unpack pak002.pk4 into Doom 3\base\
3) unpack pak000.pk4\Materials into Doom 3\base\Materials
4) unpack pak000.pk4\Guis into Doom 3\base\Guis
5) unpack pak000.pk4\Particles into Doom 3\base\Particles
6) make sure antidetect and win98 support are enabled
7) click RUN to apply the Patch
8) add into your config  r_singlelight 0 (for better performance) !!!
9) run Doom3_V2.bat

if you dont see the main menu, just hit the console key ~
you will get similar instructions in the patch menu,I have just copied them here and modified them to exactly fit your system (not mentioning there is a typing error in line 5 of the original instructions-it should be particles not partivles).

if you do everything correctly,doom3 should run..

Can I run Doom3 on my newer system. My System: p3 860 mhz, 386 mb of ram, radeon 9200 128mb, voodoo2 12mb.
I will try it out, because I've played Call of Duty 2 on it without Problems and I played The Godfather, both Games have min requirements of 1,4 Ghz and both runs very well on my system.
