Sfft 1.6 definitely works on win XP 32. Run setup.exe and then use control panel to install the driver.

Yes I would be interested in a test of a V5500 PCI over a single bridge. If we could compare results with another driver. Use set3tile.exe if running default 3dmark2001.

oskhar can you test with SLI enabled but AA Disabled, i.e. in fastest mode for each card, and separately with AA enabled.
Can someone test a simple bridged setup with a single bridge and a 5500 PCI card.

oskhar can you run 3dmark2001 having run set3tile.exe assuming that you are using double buffering and also post your system spec for these results. I presume that you are testing using 2 way SLI (default) for the 5500 and 4 way SLI (default) for the 6000. And also doing testing with AA enabled.

oskhar I would like to see comparative tests with the sfft driver, as the evidence for any bug with a bridge is questionable at best. I would like to see more compelling evidence, beofre accepting there is a problem. If people can run comparative test with both drivers it would supply us with more data.

so far as I am aware PCI devices have a have a bit in configuration space that indicates whether it is a 66mhz capable device. Presumably the brdige should be using this to setup whether it runs at 66mhz or not.

I wouldn't assume that the tools work simply because they are supplied with Amigermerlin R3.1. The last version I tried didn't work.

I was under the impression that the 3dfx tools don't work under XP and later. I thought that they edit the wrong registry key.

Un-install the driver via control panel Add/remove software option and select the SFFT driver installed package and un-install it. There will be an option for un-installing software packages under Win7 Control Panel aswell, although it will probably have a different name.

I do wonder what generating a score in 3Dmark 2001 in 16 bit mode with half of the test turned off tells us. You can't compare the score with the benchmark run in 32bit mode with the default tests running.

using setup.exe for the sfft driver only installs the driver into the driver database. You still have to use device manager to install the sfft driver as the active driver for your voodoo card. Windows will install a signed driver in preference by default, you need to override this behaviour by manually selecting the sfft driver. setup.exe installs the driver with an un-install option so you can un-install the driver via the remove software option in control panel.

Have you tried sfft 1.6 on your machine, I am curious to see what score you get.

I would try the Sfft 1.5 driver and see if it is fixed in that. Someone else may have the registry settings information somewhere and post it for you.

The tools simply use registry settings, I would try the latest version of the driver, as I seem to recall that some registry settings were ommited in some of the driver inf files. If not then you could add the reistry settings to the inf file, if you can find out what they are.
