Well a friend of mine from Gathering of Tweakers in holland has a nice refference of the most 3dfx photo's I've ever seen and yes here is a link: http://members.lycos.nl/pictures3dfx/

and I suppose you mean this pic:

though this is the only photo I know that has prototypes on Napalm in it, if there are more photo's of it, it would be nice to share those beauty pics !.

Doen anyone here have a high res photo of the Voodoo5 6000 with the 2x2 VSA-100 layout? also if possible a shot of the back of that 2x2 VSA-100 card;)

Regards, Obi-Wan Kenobi

P.S. hey Oscar try this link:

Then I hope you know what I mean :)

well that are some very impressive photo's!! Rolo, I thank you very much for these shot's, never seen them before, by the way the first shot I see that the 2x2 model is quite small compared to the others, but what is that model above the 2x2 card?
is that an V5 6K wit 8 VSA-100's?

Hi at all,

Is very nice to see the v6k 2x2 (It is very little too), Are there prototypes v6k 2x2 working?
Somebody is owner it?

Rolo01, do you know where this lucky guy found all those cards (USA)?
Who is fortunate?

P.D. FINALLY I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SELL MY BABY!!! :D
I have retired my v6k from ebay!;)

Thanks
Regards

@Obi-wan: I believe that 3dfx simply took some of the GPU heatsinks and bridged them accross the RAM to create ram-sinks, that doesn't look like it would be 4 more GPUs. Also, the card would have no RAM on the front!

Yeah you're right there, you got point! Thanx for the tip BTW!;)

Still looks funny though with all those fans.

BTW, has anyone have this Intel revision Voodoo5 6000 Rev 1000?

And if so are these the most rarest of all Voodoo5 6000's?

The name of the guy who found the box with 15 cards is Clay, he lives in Texas. I also bought my card from him.
None of the 2x2 models are working. They have no traces on the pcb and were just demonstration objects when 3dfx wanted to show something in the early days of the development.
I know one guy in USA who has a 6000 Rev.1000, but all known cards of this type are non working. The 3dfx engineer who fixed my card tried to repair the Rev.1000, but it burned everytime you switched it on.
Yes, I think this rev. is pretty rare.
BTW, I have an interesting photo when 3dfx was thinking about a giant V3 heatsink to put on the 6k :

wOOOOt!!! Rolo that 2x2 V5 6K is really 1337!!!

It is a pitty that there are no working samples of the 2x2 card [:(]

It's size is also more relavant for people with smaller cases. I just wish that 3dfx was still alive, I really miss thier Voodoo buisness, okay the only thing we can do know is collect their wonders and dream on. The Voodoo5 6000 was actually the most impressive thing I've ever seen, just would love to own one though, okay it's free to dream I guess :)

Hi,

very, very interesting!

Is a pain that the rev.1000 was no working![:(]
Who is the 3dfx engineer? Perhaps so Hank? ;)

Another thing, You bought your v6k as no working, no?
All their cards were no working?
Did he sell all cards?

Thanks
Oscar :D

Rolo01

My card was sold as non working, but a former STB/3dfx engineer fixed it ( no, it was not Hank ). He is known as V-Man in the x3dfx forum.
Most of Clays cards were functional, only about 4 were out of order. Tweakmeisters card is one of them, i guess.
Some pretty rare models were there as well, I remember a Rev. 3400.
But all of them were sold, some on ebay and some private.
I am still curious whether there are some people that own a Rev.1000 that is working...

yeah me too, it might work better on Pentium4 based machines than AMD's because of that large Intel chip on it , or am I mistaken, Rolo? :)

But anyways, isn't she sweet:

I still wouldn't mind having one of these! :D :D :D

well yeah, I am wondering if there is a working Rev 1000A.

You must tell me where! [:p][:p][:p]
It was only one card, from one french guy who works for game development company, they got card for testing, benchmarking etc...

Not so impressive as box with 15 V5 6K:D

P.S. One fellow simply shocked me - "I've got working PCI V5 6000" [:0][:0][:0]
It was not V5 6K but Quantum 3D stuff :D :D :D Very good thing but not so rare, at least it exists unlike PCI V5 6K
Can you stop the hurricane ?

ElvIsAlive007

yes we all know of clay , i tryed to deal with him 2 years ago when he got the box of 16 v6ks

he seems i heard a few storys of how he sold people non-working v6ks and had to swap a few, other out there claimed he took money without sending the v6k, we assume it be some jelous 3dfx users, does anyone know the true story

i phoned him a few times and clay told me how he got the v6000 from the dallas 3dfx facotry which only shut down 2.5 years ago

non of the v6000 he had would of had hanks v6k mod fix and im sure theres a few non working v6ks out there awaiting to be fixed

Aloha Elvis,

Well good for you!

Anyways, do you know if there is still a working model of the Intel Rev 1000?

Maybe you could get us further. and what is the ramdac of the V5 6K? 350Mhz like the other VSA-100 based cards of is it 400Mhz?

Regards,

Obi-Wan Kenobi

P.S. I don't need a V6K to be the happiest 3dfx user on the plannet, I have 25 different 3Dfx/3dfx cards, which makes me a little happier;) But wanting one of those V5 6K's means something totally different.[:o)]
